If you want a clean, comfortable, affordable hotel with excellent service then you can;t do better than this. Sure, it is a bit shabby, but the rooms are spotlessly clean and the lovely woman who runs the place more than makes up for it. It's a tiny bit off the beaten track but you can still walk easily to restaurants and we walked to Fish n Fins a few times where we were diving. Best of all we had a big terrace where we could sit in the evening and drink beer and watch the rain. And it's cheap so it attracts other young laid-back traveller types. Rooms have A/C, cable TV and a little fridge and there's a laundry room.

Room Tip: You could ask for a room at the front

Can't add too much that other reviewers haven't said. Despite the horrible hours that we arrived and departed from Palau, the Guest Lodge picked us up and dropped us back off at the airport (we stayed more than 2 days). The management was very helpful, always asking if we needed anything. On our first day it poured and they arranged to have a car delivered for a reasonable rental fee so we could sightsee without getting soaked. The car was from dj Rent a Car and was in good working condition and roomy. The Guest Lodge also provides free hot and cold water, and hot coffee and tea in the morning. There are picnic tables outside the rooms and we enjoyed socializing with the other guests over breakfast. Yes, the WiFi is slow and discontinuous but it works to receive and send your email. The rooms are nothing special but the location is fantastic for walking to restaurants and if you are diving (and there's not much else to do here), you don't spend much time there anyway. The a/c worked great and the fridge is handy for inexpensive happy hour after diving.

Excellent value. Nice clean large rooms, refrigerator, satellite TV (but no movie channels, sorry), great hot water (heater right in the bath, no wait for hot water!), phone with free local calls, very pleasant, friendly and helpful staff. Free transfers to the airport. Excellent location in the main business area of Koror and only 5-10 minutes taxi/drive to beaches and boat landings. No traffic noise, new air conditioners, nice bright fluorescent lights if you want them and warm low lighting with table lamps if you prefer that. On the down side in has no Internet (a significant problem for me) and using the (expensive and slow) Palau telecom WiFi internet usually is not possible because the signal is too weak at the Guest Lodge. You have to go to another hotel or Internet cafe. No restaurant though there are many within 5 minutes walk. Also the desk is not manned all the time so incoming calls may not be received and some services may not always be available.

The pluses definitely outweigh the minuses. Recommended highly.

This is definitely one of the best budget hotels in Koror. I stayed 7 nights. Rooms are huge and clean with comfortable double bed, cable TV, great shower, hot water etc. Free tea and coffee available on the balcony. Staff were incredibly helpful and nothing was too much trouble - they arranged diving, land tours, taxis and were able to recommend restaurants. Location is excellent it's only 5 mins walk to the centre of town, but the hotel is located on a quiet back street with no traffic or other noise. I cannot fault this place and would definitely stay there again.

I am currently staying at this motel for 9 weeks, and leaving Palau in 10 days' time.
They offered me a good long-term rate, and can also offer a slightly discounted rate (from their normal rate) if you bargain (politely, of course).

Please note, this is a motel and not a hotel. It is great, especially for divers who'd rather spend their money on diving, as the rooms are clean with the necessary facilities e.g. fridge, eating table, sofa area. The bed is comfortable, beddings are clean, bathroom is clean, hot water available (although it seems limited to the capacity of the hot water container, but it's enough for my showers), and they provide coffee & tea in the mornings. Note - meals are not available at or provided by this establishment, but can be purchased from downtown at minimal cost. There is a launderette on-site, it costs $1.50 per wash and $2.00 for the dryer (useful if the weather is uncertain).

Location wise, it's about a 5 mins walk to downtown (in the form of a main street) where you will find restaurants and supermarkets. I travelled solo, so a few times I bought takeaway food from supermarkets/small eateries and sat on the motel's balcony area for dinner, enjoying the nice breeze, full moon and stars.

The owners (Mr Schmull and Mrs Sekang) and receptionist/cleaner (Tess) are very friendly, you can ask them for anything you need and they try to help you out. I asked about drinking water, and instead of buying bottles and carrying them home everytime, they offered to fill my bottle up as they have water filter - free of charge. I think they also offer free airport transfers if you stay more than 2 nights.

All in all a very good experience for me, and I would recommend the Guest Lodge. They even have their own website now - www.guestlodgepalau.com

From the moment we met Ambrose (desk clerk/driver) at the airport, I was impressed. Although we had already informed him by phone about our car rental reservations, he met us at the airport anyways to ensure that our arrangements were secure. Once at the lodge he checked us in quickly - knowing that we had a stop-over on Yap and it was already 10 pm- he showed us to our rooms which were very clean, neat, and spacious. In each of the rooms was a small refrigerator, couch, television, queen-size bed, and single bed. The rooms also had air conditioning units and outside the rooms were chairs and a picnic table. Although Guest Lodge isn't quite in central Koror, it isn't far at all from restaurants, stores, and gas stations. This accomodation was indeed a very wise, safe, and economical choice for us.

I booked a one week stay at the Guest Lodge on short notice with a travel agent. The booking was advertised "Palau on a Budget" out of a San Diego travel agency that caters to scuba divers. I was not disappointed. In fact I was rather impressed with the property. The hotel is a short walk off the main street and busy area of downtown Koror - yet close enough to the restaurants and stores and far enough to avoid noise and traffic.
The rooms are large enough for two people. The rooms come with cable tv, refrigerator, phone with unlimited local calls, and efficient air-conditioning. The staff does a good job of keeping the place very clean and are very helpful and friendly. The package came with dives with Fish and Fins which offered pick up and drop off at the motel. No question. If you want to dive Palau, this motel is a great place to stay. No frills, but safe, quiet and comfortable.
