I stayed in a one bedroom apartment on the 9th floor overlooking Baie des Citrons, which although a bit dated and sparse on crockery/cutlery and appliances (e.g. there was no toaster in my room), was very spacious and functional. Rooms are clean, although common areas (hallways/lifts) are not particularly so (best not to look around too hard in the lifts). The views from the room and balcony were stunning and were undoubtedly the best feature of the room - sunsets are stunning. The downside of having those views however, is that the apartment also overlooked the restaurant/bar/nightclub strip and so was very noisy, particularly late in the week/over the weekend - the nightclubs are open until 4-5am and even with all the doors shut the sound still carries. Staff are polite and efficient, but barely acknowledge your existence, so don't expect a lot of help with tips on where to go, what to see, where to eat etc or even what facilities the hotel might have - you just have to work it out yourself. Not really a problem for me having stayed in Noumea and the Baie des Citrons/Anse Vata area before. Not sure what was going on with the lifts while I was there - we stood in the foyer waiting for a lift for a good 10 minutes while one of the lifts sat on the sixth floor not moving and had to wait until the lift that was in use dropped it's load off and came back down again. There's a little shop next to reception you can get some basics (seemed to be open quite late too), but if it's not a Sunday you're probably better off just going for a short walk either to one of the convenience stores in Anse Vata or to the Casino supermarket in Port Plaisance for a wider selection/better prices. Overall, a good place to stay, but choose your apartment wisely if you want some sleep.

Room Tip: Ask for a room on the Anse Vata side to ensure a good nights sleep

After reading other reviews, I booked a 2 bedroom deluxe apartment on the Baie des Citrons side of the building. We were on the 13th floor in 1307 which had great views and lovely sunsets. However after 4 nights, the last 2 being Friday and Saturday nights, of progressively more noise from bars and nightclubs below until well after 4am and consequently little sleep, we asked to be moved to the Anse Vata side of the building. This is not the fault of Casa del Sole and the staff are obviously used to requests to be moved. They did not object and gave us a key to check out 1603 on the 16th floor. This apartment proved to be fantastic and more importantly, quiet even on Friday and Saturday nights. The views over Anse Vata beach are wonderful and it was great to watch the water sports (kitesurfing, windsurfing, canoeing). Although the Anse Vata side is subject to more wind, it was never so bad that we were unable to sit out on the fabulous large balcony whenever we wished. We had a split balcony, one running along the length of the living, kitchen and 2nd bedroom and another balcony outside the main bedroom and from this balcony we were able to see the sunset.

As other people have said, the apartments are not all that well equipped and the bed mattresses are not the most comfortable but this is more than made up for by their roominess and large balconies.

A great location from which to discover and savour this wonderful island.

Room Tip: If noise bothers you definitely go for the Anse Vata side of the building. Even higher floors on the Baie des Citrons are still subject to noise on Friday and Saturday nights. Room 1603 on the Anse Vata side was perfect, quiet and had wonderful views.

Fairly basic apartment experience but clean, roomy and excellent location (probably the best in Noumea, right between the Anse Vata and Baise de Citrons tourist areas). We had a deluxe apartment on fourteenth floor with majestic views over the Baise de Citrons. If you can, get an apartment higher up on the Baise de Citrons side - sunset views and less windy. A micro supermarket in the building has basic household and grocery items (including bread, t/a alcohol etc) and a full supermarket is 15 mins walk away. The micro supermarket doubles as a cafe with coffee (not the best), tea and beer on tap

Room Tip: Higher up on the Baise de Citrons side has magnificent sunset views and less wind

When it comes to spectacular ocean views this hotel is world class. The rooms are very spacious, well appointed and comfortable. The staff are polite but not overly friendly and always seemed genuinely surprised whenever I asked even the most straightforward questions. The only real downside to this hotel (and it would relate to most hotels in the area anyway) is how loud the local bars and clubs are at night - even during the week. Closing the door to the balcony and putting on the air-conditioning fixed the problem but it was a shame to have to miss out on the fresh air. Also - a warning - don't just follow someone else from the hotel to the roof top pool! You need a key from the reception (NOT your room key) to get into this pool. But you also need it to get OUT of the pool. So because I was the last person at the pool I found myself locked in for quite a while waiting for a friendly person (thank you whoever you were) who would run to reception to get a key to let me out! If you want a high class hotel then you can't go past Le Meridien further down the Bay. If you want a hotel with standard service (such as room service, new sheets each day, etc) then save your money and stay at Le Parc (also closer to town). But if your idea of paradise is drinking wine on a balcony watching the sun set on one of the most beautiful coastlines in the world, then this is the hotel for you.

Room Tip: If you can afford it - choose a room on the 16th floor - the higher the room the better the view.

Perfectly located for restaurants, bars and cafes. Great view of the bay and very comfortable to come home to after the day's activities.
Receptionist was quite nice but her sense of direction was terrible.
She could speak broken English but really struggled to give us reliable directions to different bars and attractions. We got lost a couple of times following her directions.
Just grab a free map or organise to get wi-fi in your room and use google maps on your phone/iPad to get your bearings.
I would definitely stay here again and would recommend it to others.
My best advice is to learn basic French phrases before you arrive.
We had heard the locals were rude but a sincere "Bonjour (good day)/bon soir (good night), parlez vous Anglaise (do you speak English)?" does wonders and we found everyone to be helpful when we used this approach.
