A very interesting place, amazing architecture in the style of a traditional kanak building with each structure housing a museum or display. Worth an hour or two to wander around and learn about these people.

Apart from viewing the 'unique' architecture of Renzo Piano I had hoped to learn about local culture. Sadly all the content and exhibitions are in French - with no translation visible or audio guide services to help. Plus as per the 'pacific island' vibe the cafe is closed all weekend and the reception area was abandoned. I got free entry through my hotel stay - which made the 'pain minimal. But with normal entry around 2000XPF and the objective surely to promote Kanak culture to all visitors the Cultural Centre is very disappointing. Plus the signage getting to the location is very poor - '....turn left after the airport, go past the golf course" is the best advice I can give.

I was expecting to see a lot more cultural aspects of New Caledonia.
We went on a Sunday and some of the rooms were closed.

Hey, it was free and I was very impressed with the buildings but other that that there wasn't much information and got bitten like crazy by mosquitos in the exhibit rooms.

The building is amazing and worth a look for the architecture alone unfortunately the remainder exhibits where a little bit light on. Some school groups where on tours maybe they had a different experience. They do have organized tours might be good to check these out before going. The buildings in a group where good examples of village life but no information on them when you visit.
