We had a very pleasant 1 week stay here July 2013. Our room was fine, comortable bed and nice view out to the ocean made more interesting by the numerous windsurfers and kite surfers enjoying theb sea.
All staff we encountered were helpful and friendly. A hotel problem was easily resolved by front desk supervisor ( Anna ) and on another occassion by Dominique ( hotel GM who just happened to be at the desk ).
We dined at the beach restaurant, Sextant restautant and Hippocampe restaurant. This fine dining restaurant certainly lived up to its desciption, food was exceptional and we were looked after superbly by the gracious maitre' d (Terry) and his staff. Also the breakast buffett was as good as any other hotels that I have stayed - fresh omellette made just for you with baguette, followed by..........lots of variety!
The hotel had complimentary bikes for us to use, which we did use but only on the last day since that was when we found out about them ( no information in room about the availability of the bikes). We did fine a voucher however in our room for 2 free coffees per day at the beach restaurant which we made use of and very much enjoyed.
So if travelling to Noumea do consider Le Meridien :)

The staff are friendly and accommodating. Our room was on the ground level (Rm:154) and I think we were lucky to get it as it was one of the two rooms which face the ocean. Calling it a five star hotel is a bit of a stretch compared to other 5 star hotels we've stayed in. The room had an old small tv with dreadful reception and the room generally looked a little tired and worn. Having said that; it was not expensive and the room was a good size with a very comfortable king size bed. It has a lovely pool and good breakfasts as well as a 'hatted' restaurant. It looks beautiful at night with all the coloured lights scattered throughout the gardens. I would recommend it to friends if they can get a good deal as we did.

Room Tip: Rm: 154 and 156 face away from the rest of the hotel. Although it faces the ocean you can't really see it for the trees but is nice and private.

We booked a room using cash and points, so it ended up only costing $60 per night for the first 3 nights and $75 for the last night. Due to an error on their web page at the time of booking it also included a full buffet breakfast at Sextant restaurant - bonus!

The room we had was a Superior sea view - and a lovely view indeed. Unfortunately the room was a little outdated - a freshening up would make the world of difference.

Service was great - friendly and efficient. English was not a problem, but saying the odd French word here and there brought a smile to the staff's faces!

The breakfast buffet was not special - but we can't complain as it was free. But if I had to pay XPF 3000 p/p I would not have been happy.

We are going to have dinner at Sextant (A La Carte) tomorrow night so will write a review after the meal.

Just arrives home from spending 7 days at Le Meridien,we had a great time. The motel is maybe abit further out of Anse Vata than expected, approximately a 10-12 minute walk. This did not affect us as we liked the walk, but bumped into an elderly couple who were abit worried about the distance,I would probably list this motel as maybe a 4 1/2 star not 5 as I don't think the rooms were completely up to scratch but in saying that they were perfectly comfortable and we did get an upgrade to a seaview which was fabulous. The beds were very comfortable but we found the pillows extremely soft. You could not fault the service from all the staff, particularly the front desk staff, they could not do enough for us.This resort is only 2 with a beach frontage and is the better resort I feel, the beach area is just wonderful .The restaurants in the motel are pretty good, breakfasts were all fine. There is a great pool but was too cold to swim because its winter over there. We had 3 overcast days and 3 absolute perfect days.Overall,we had a wonderful stay and we intend going back to stay at Le Meridien, even though Noumea itself didn't thrill us,but we found the resort the most relaxing place we had ever been too.We highly recommend this resort and we have been to a lot of tropical islands, but this was the best

Room Tip: Get a seaview room up high which overlooks the pool and the ocean

We chose le Meridien because of previous reviews and we were not disappointed. The Ocean View rooms on the 5th floor is definitely the ones to request- great views of the expert kite surfers on the lagoon and the relaxing sound of the ocean at night. Watch the P&O liners leave at night-really ghostly! The 3 restaurants are top notch. Rooms are neat and well serviced but need a facelift. The tv was rather small and channels mostly in French- all the more reason to go out to enjoy some really good french cuisine. A great pool area beautifully lit at night. The main restaurant le Sextant had an 130 variety french cheese festival. Gym, Spa, tennis court and a small casino all in walking distance. We found the staff very helpfull and well conversed in english . Will definetly return
