My husband and I have just returned from 7 nights at the Royal Tera in Noumea. I would recommend anyone to go now before word gets out and the prices rise. This is truly a resort that ticks all the boxes. We had a room on the top floor with amazing views all over the bay, from the lounge to the bedroom uninterrupted blue skies greeted us every morning. The room was modern clean and had a self contained kitchen. The location is great right on the beach and an easy walk to the many restaurants on offer in the beach strip. Breakfast was excellent and position of the restaurant stunning. The pool area is brilliant and looks over the beach.
Staff were polite and courteous and answered all our questions promptly. One tip is to go to the supermarket in town and stock up on drinks and munchies as these can be quite expensive. Overall we would recommend this resort to anyone . When booking if possible ask for a unit on the 7th floor with seaviews well worth the wow factor.

Room Tip: If possible ask for room on the 7th floor

I have just had 5 of the most amazing nights at the Tera in Noumea. Rated as a 3.5 star but far surpasses any expectation...The rooms were incredible. We had a beach front north facing on the 2nd floor, with the breeze blowin in, the lap of the surf on the beach, the amazing finishes, the attention to details, this property is pure indulgence. Check-in, get a taxi to Casino Johnson and load up on everything that is good about Noumea, Pate, Cheese, tuna, wine and have yourselves a wonderful gourmet picnic every day. Anse Vate is fantastic for dining out with an abundenc of choices from cheap burgers to the best most amazing gourmet french meal at the wonderful restaurant Armadus....pure indulgence. Staff very attentive, amazing gym and spa, beautiful pool and the most fantastic people watching in the world, felt like being in the South of France. Totally recommend this property and will be going back.

This resort it a great place to stay with the family, staff friendly, rooms spotless, pool- pretty as a picture! You can't go wrong with this resort! Even the food is really nice, the location is in a great spot only a couple of minute walk to get to a shopping strip by the beach. My family loved noumea and this amazing resort!

My husband and I stayed there for a night, in a one bedroom suite, absolutely beautiful. The staff were nice although I must mention that no bellboy was available for the transport of our luggage. Room was clean and bed comfortable. This is a very modern hotel. We went in the the buffet breakfast the next morning and food although choice limited was delicious. They do have many choices of coffees though and very good coffee.

Really impressed with this newly renovated Hotel located on the beach at Anse Vata (premium tourist beach area)
Certainly a wow factor with the new Bar and Restaurant. Unbelievable that it is rated as a 3 Star due to facilities (1 Restaurant and no food room service etc)
Rooms are suites with separate Living/Kitchen Area and Bedroom with en suite. Gorgeous decor with European fittings. WIFI in the room and LCD TV's in each area.
The only restaurant is located overlooking the beach, so the breakfast view is spell binding.
Only 2 hotels located actually on the beach - the 5 star Le Meridien next door which is very tired and the Royal Tera. Most of the hotels in this area are across the road from the beach over shopping malls.
Restaurants within easy walk for additional variety - especially quite a view Vietnamese!
When booking a Seaside suite ensure that it is the non Le Meridien side - lower levels look straight at the hotel next door - ask for a view out towards the Bay of Citron - North side and closest building to beach. There are two buildings off set and joined by the lift in the centre.
Staff very intimate and excellent. Made our stay very welcoming especially with our limited French.
Thank you Trip advisor - the reviews convinced me to book and we were pleasantly surprised by its quality & friendliness.

Room Tip: Ensure you ask for a North side Seaside Suite if you are not upgrading to a Beachfront Unit which ar...

How often do you stay at a hotel and think none of the literature or the web site for this place do it justice? The location was superb. We were there for a week, returning last week, and walked along the sea front to the local market near the port a couple of times (it takes over an hour). There is only one other hotel right on the beach (next door) and it's a lot more expensive and rather dated. We gathered from talking to a few locals that to have a fully equipped kitchen is pretty unique, too. The views are wonderful, the veranda which ran the full length of our two bedroomed apartment, a joy to sit on from sunrise to sunset. Every part of the hotel, from it's brand new gym to it's fabulous bar, is a pleasure to be in. The breakfasts were delicious. I can't comment on what they were like later in the morning, but for those of us that didn't want to miss that beautiful early morning walk, they were perfect. We were never in the hotel at lunch time as we took our fresh baguettes, pastries, cheese and fruit from the market to one of the smaller islands using the water taxis. The great french lady in the hotel shop would call them up to collect us from in front of the hotel. She also organised our dive trip and helped with the ferry to the Isle of Pines. The dinners we had there were great. The staff were always smiling and our final trip to the airport, in a private car organised by the hotel, was a in shiny new porsche cayenne. Apparently the owner of the company had been told the vehicle we were picked up from the airport in had a rattle in the roof (I'd forgotten) and wanted to make it up to us. How's that for service?
All in all, it was a brilliant holiday and I'd pick it over a trip to Queensland every time. The costs weren't that much more, if you were careful, and the French/Polynesian experience our family had, priceless.

We stayed at the Royal Tera for a week and were thoroughly impressed. The room was very modern and stylish, with LCD tvs in the lounge and bedroom areas. Lovely comfortable beds and nice, powerful shower. We really appreciated the free Wifi in the room too.

The hotel facilities were very good. Lovely pool area with plenty of loungers and in nice surroundings - only complaint is the pool was quite cold. I had a massage at the Spa Aquatonic, which was a gorgeous facility. The gym was also extremely good with top of the range equipment.

We really enjoyed the beachfront location of the hotel and the fact that the hotel was a 5 minute walk from the main Anse Vata shops and restaurants.

One of the highlights of our stay at the Royal Tera was the delicious breakfast each morning - there was a good selection of hot food, pastries, cold cuts, cheeses and fruit. We had one dinner at the hotel restaurant which was delicious and was not too expensive compared to some of the restaurants in the area.

We received some great service while we were there and found several of the staff members went out of their way to help us.

We loved the Royal Tera and would definitely stay there again.
