We dined here during a recent holiday and were very glad we did. The food was fresh, perfectly seasoned and the ever changing menu has fantastic choices.
While this restaurant is not fine dining in the traditional sense the food and service are certainly as good as any thing you could hope to get. The wine list was ample with some good value wines.
The wait staff are well trained and very helpful even with our very bad french.
You will need to book as the locals know and use this place by the look of the other diners.
You can also come for lunch or coffee and a desert .
The parking was fine and all in all one of the nicer meals we have eaten anywhere on our travels .Certainly the nicest meal we had in New Caledonia.

I love a restaurant that changes its menu to match the best produce and this one does that and more. Sublime food that would rival the best anywhere. Charming service. Note that it may be difficult to get a taxi back to your hotel. Allow time for that, but the owner did get one for us in a relatively short time. Best restaurant in Noumea. Website says it all.

Have just spent 7 days on Noumea staying at Le Meridien. We decided we would use the Lonely Planet and Trip Advisor ( as we usually do) to pick 6 restaurants and the best one we would go back to.

This is the one we went back to. The young chef owner and his brigade, front and back of house, are doing something very different here. Its simple 4 main courses and 4 deserts on black board menus. A blackboard menu for white wine and one for red. You will find something you like and the wine list is solid. The menu is changing so it will be a surprise. On the nights we went the duck was brilliant, the seafood pasta - my favourite and the deserts - well the deserts are a must.

It has a great atomphere - you are outside but well covered, Book - this place was full both nights - we used online booking and they have that right with confirmation number. Trip Advisor had this place at number 1 while Lonely Planet did not have have it ( the LP edition was Dec 12) - what was the writer doing not to get this in.

OK - everyone in Noumea speaks French but at this place it all seems easy. Have a few key words like well done and sparkling water and its all good.

Finds like this one on a holiday make for great memories. Voila!!

Great fresh food and good wine. Very French with great service and atmosphere. Nice to have blackboard menue only in French. The waiter was very patient explaining the menu in English. Recommend taking a taxi from the Anse Vata area as Cafe a little hard to find if you are on the local bus. We then walked into the City and caught the local bus back. One of the best restaurants in Noumea. A touch of France in the Pacific.
