Good snorkelling, underwater path - better on calm day. Places to sit and eat and lounge (for a price). We took a picnic and found a spot under a tree - taxi boat approx $10 aust for return trip

We took a water taxi over to Duck Island and loved it. The taxi ride is quick (about 10 mins) and they run very regularly. The restaurant serves lovely, big meals and the snorklelling is fantastic! You need to hire everything on the island ( gear, sun deck chairs etc) But the fees are not over the top and the Island is certainly a great way to spend the afternoon on a warm day with the family.

We felt like typical tourists going over to Duck Island but did pop over there (only 5 mins by water taxi) to go snorkelling for a couple of hours.

The snorkeling was fantastic and so close to shore. We were lucky as it wasn't crowded when we went as its only a tiny island.

We were also lucky to be there when they were having a sculpture display - some great art work.

Most impressed with the composting toilets - very clean and large and pleasant smelling - hard to believe with toilet paper running water and paper towels.

The majority of the island is taken up by sun loungers and umbrella's - extra cost to the tourist.

If you don't snorkel there is really no reason to go here though.

We did not know what to expect when we went to this island which is just off the coast of Anse Vata beach. We went by water taxi which runs about every 15 or 20 mins. It is a quick trip over. We knew that there was a cafe so we had lunch. Be warned, they are very slow with the service and while we sat for a long time waiting to be served, someones meal was on the counter waiting to be picked up by the waiter. It sat throughout our meal and was never picked up. We ordered and noticed that our meal was also placed by the long lost meal. We just took matters into our own hands and collected it ourselves. Have to say, the food was good with generous serves.
We did not realise that everything has to be hired. The beach lounges and snorkling gear has to be hired so take money. You will also need reef shoes as it is all coral. There is lots of shade but it does get crowded so go early.

Good value!! And easy reach from the Meridien.... Worth two hours, and a great water taxi ride, who dropped us back to the Meridien no extra charge... You only have to ask
