It's a very nice and relaxing place with beautiful views and excellent snorkeling. However if you want to rent a chair or to lay in one of the good-looking sofa you have to pay an expensive fee. The people working there were friendly to me but I saw one of them being very rude to a customer.

It's a must-see for anyone passing by Noumea.

A fiVe minute water taxi or fifteen minutes by hire canoe it's worth a trip across to the ile aux canards. There is sculpture exhibit which is Freetown enjoy. We opted foist in the restaurant area rather than hire an expensive umbrella and lounge chaise. This allowed us to take our time and have some shade. The food was pretty ordinary but it was the only choice on the island. Taxis stop running at five so make sure you get the last one there is no accommodation on the island.

Positives are snorkelling with lots of fish, white beach and views of la grande terre and Noumea

Beautifully set up areas, but expensive for a family at 1000XPF per transat ( recliner ), and no shade unless you paid for an umbrella. And you couldn't just pay for a sun umbrella and sit on the sand, you had to have the transats first !

Good snorkelling. Exciting 5 minute speedboat ride there and back. You can take your own picnic or buy buffet meals etc and all beverages at the attractive restaurant there.
Deckchairs were good but cost $23 NZ for two (umbrellas extra!)

Get on the yellow taxi boat ($12 pp, return) and it s a 5 min boat ride.
The underwater snorkeling path is really nice, great to go there with kids as it is quite educational and definitely geared towards them. The bar on the island is nice and you can rent beach umbrellas and seats.
Take water shoes as the beach to access the snorkeling path is made out of shells and is quite hard to walk on without shoes.
