The room was a sufficient size with a sea view which was nice. The room was cleaned daily to a good standard.
It is looking a little tired and I think this place once had it's hey day.
The largest disappointment was not the room or cleanliness but the lack of customer service and helpfulness from staff.
Three times I had to go to reception to get coffee for the room and it wasn't because we were drinking lots of coffee.
Reception staff had no idea nor copies of the menu for the onsite restaurant/bar????
The exchange rate for AUD to Francs was appalling, (about 68). Don't change money with reception.
There was little promotion or helpful information about surrounding activities, things to do etc. Nothing in the room and very little in English. I speak and read a little French which was okay, and I don't expect everything to be in English, but there wasn't much at all.
The only thing they seemed to promote was there sister hotels and restaurants.
The lady didn't even know where the nearest tourism office was.
I would recommend this hotel if you are a fluent French speaker and don't need assistance to know what there is to do and enjoy in New Caledonia.
