“Good value”
Reviewed July 28, 2014

Great location in the marina of Port du Sud
Friendly staff, good set up.
Sat outside on the terrasse at night looking at the boats.
Good wine list
Had some prawns fried on skewer
Nice way to start
Then the mahi mahi: small portion but good taste.
Friend had the lamb which looked like a good choice too.
Overall a good experience

“Christmas Lunch”
Reviewed December 15, 2013

We held our annual Xmas lunch, for 40 people at this restaurant right from the start we were impressed by the easy and professional manner of all of the staff. Everyone went out of their way to ensure that everything went well, the service was rapid, friendly and always with a smile. The meal was excellent, beautifully cooked and presented using top quality fresh produce. I would highly recommend this lovely place if you wish to enjoy a friendly and nautical setting. Thanks once again to all concerned.

“last minute delight”
Reviewed November 14, 2013

I'll keep it short this time. Last minute decision to eat out turned out to be an absolute delight. Arrived at the restaurant last minute without prior reservation, therefore all tables on the terrace were either taken or reserved, but it wasn't too much of an issue as we were offered a perfectly acceptable table inside the restaurant. Right from the start until the very end the service was spot on and it would have been close to perfect, if it wasn't for the few stains on the wine glasses that made me go "hmmmm"...
Reasonably priced menu had a very good choice of starters, mains and desserts and so was the wine list. When the food arrived, course after course it was just getting better and better... nicely served seafood salad made for a light start to a meal, it was full of flavour, even though the ingredients were slightly mundane, and I did enjoy the warm/cold idea of it. Main course... oh yes, that calvados poached apple served with duck breast was just to die for. Sticky toffee pudding finished the meal with sweet fireworks.
It's been a long while since I have left a restaurant in Noumea with a big smile on my face. The service was polite, at the table at the right time without major interruptions. Food was nicely presented, full of flavour and ingredients' combination made sense and was not over done, however few things could do with a little bit more seasoning, nevertheless delicious.
I'm quite happy to say that I will be coming back to Le Bintz and will definitely recommend this place. Dinners seem to be more relaxed and one can actually take time and enjoy the meal and the company of others. Lunches on the other hand, as tasty and delicious as they are, tend to be more "speedy" on the service side, but would still be an enjoyable experience if seated on the terrace overlooking marinas in Orphan's Bay.

“Average”
Reviewed April 21, 2012

Although we had a great table on the terrace overlooking the Baie de Orphelinat, and anticipated a very enjoyable meal, I could only descibe the food as average at best. Dishes were attractively presented, but lacked flavour. My tuna salad entree was smothered in a mayonaise style sauce and the 200 gr entrecote steak was served rare as requested, but was still oddly "stewed", the accompanying Roquefort sauce (luckily served in a seperate dish) was overpowering and a poor match to the steak. Service was good at the start but as the restaurant filled we later found it very difficult to attract attention and waited about 30 minutes for our bill. We eventually payed at the till and left feeling dissatisfied. (I would definitely recommend making a reservation for any restaurant in Noumea as this appears to be the norm and usually results in a better table).
