- Room was broken into and security was a travesty! No one offered to help secure the area or the room. The lack of care and disrespect was apparent with the staff.
- An order was made with Pizza Hut thru the front Desk, it was a personal purchase that was made. Once the pizza arrived they had dismissed the order and authorized it to be returned immediately back to Pizza Hut. Raul the Bartender should confirm this. The next day Raul went out of his way to personally drive to Pizza Hut with my money to buy pizza for me. Realize I was very hungry and your clerk went out of his way to deny food!
-False accusations were made about me to my company as well.
Do not recommend staying here due to the awful nature of the staff and lack of security.

Very nice hotel, staff are great, really beautiful and comfortable. And the prices are very good. Plus it's near the historical centre, which is a very beautiful place to visit. The people there are unbelievably happy. We spend new year's eve there, it's the caribbean on land!

We stayed in this hotel for 1 week. We were on a schooltrip. This hotel is just a basic hotel. It has what a simple hotel has. like a tv, a refrigarator, closet. There is no batthub in the bathroom.

The staff is friendly, but you have to ask for things to be reparared, otherwise they won't do it. They won't on their own initiative repair something, even they see it has to be fixed. Our toilet was running water for days, nobody did something, until we asked them to look at it.

They serve a basic breakfast. they got mixed cutted fruits, bread, eggs (every day a diferent style of eggs: scrambeld, boiled, cooked), dutch cheese, ham, corn flakes, a warm meal, yoghurt, 2 types of juice, coffee, tea and milk.

If you are going to suriname just to visit the place, and you do NOT worry about a nice, luxurious, 5 star hotel, you can go to this hotel.

all by all it was ok, nothing special.

For a long stay this hotel a good choice. The rooms are very basic, nothing fancy, so don't expect a flat screen or a bad tube. Prices are about USD 90 per night, breakfast included. The breakfast is buffet style and has hot als cold items. As this hotel is part of the Torarica group, you can use the facilities offered by Torarica, such as the fitness room and the pool. Within walking distance you have a great Chinese Restaurant: Chi Min. To go to downtown it is a 20 minute walk. By bus it is about 5 minutes, cost is about less than 50 USD cents per person, a taxi will cost you about 15 Suriname Dollars which is about USD 5.
A great place to have some drinks in the vinicity is 't Vat: good Suriname Beer (Parbo Beer) and also delicious food. For typical "Java cuisine" please take a taxi (cost about USD 7 one way) to blauwgrond. You will find there several small Warungs which are small restaurants offering Java cuisine. Warung Rena and Warung Pawiro are the best choice. If you would like to book trips to the sight seeing locations, check with Orange Tours, they have an office in front of the Torarica hotel, which is next to the Eco Resort. I would recommend you the Warapakreek tour and the Brownsberg trip.

Nothing eco or particularly special about this resort but still a good place to stay. Convenient location within walking distance of the historical parts of Paramaribo.

Rooms are average although a little tired - should really be a little cheaper but it's still better value than staying down the road at the Torarica.

Bizarrely the hotel designers chose to put the 'Riverview' wing of the hotel at right angles to the river instead of facing it. This means that only the 3rd floor rooms have a view of the river, albeit at an acute angle.

The hotel doesn't actually have a proper kitchen with food apparently brought in from the Torarica down the road. However, the continental breakfast included with the room rate is good (although it could use a little more variety).

Food and drinks served in the hotel 'restaurant' and bar are both limited, overpriced and poor quality. Because of the lack of a kitchen the meals are limited to whatever they can microwave or chuck in the deep fryer and are pretty poor as a result. So my advice is don't bother ordering any food in the restaurant and bar unless you're desperate and cant be bothered walking 300m down the road to the Shell petrol station where drinks and snacks are available at much cheaper prices.

Now having 'ho-hummed' the hotel and its facilities I will also add that staying at the hotel also gives you a free pass to use the swimming pool, gym, jacuzzi and sauna facilities at the Torarica Hotel just down the road. These facilities are excellent and this free pass is the best thing about the hotel as it gives you all the facilities without the higher price.

The hotel currently has a pool under construction and I sincerely they will not revoke this free pass to the Torarica as it was the best thing about staying at the Eco Resort Inn
