“empty buildings, problem blocks”
Reviewed October 11, 2013

There're some empty boarded up buildings on Waterkant across the river front. The buildings were abandoned with homeless people sleeping in the front poach. At night and weekend loud music in cars passing by and locals hanging out at the riverside. The river view is lovely.

“Water Side View”
Reviewed October 6, 2013

Didn't get a chance to use any of the water taxis (boats) but the waterkant is a popular hangout spot for both the locals and tourists alike. Lots of local cultural dishes are available for sale and a nice atmosphere of music is always being played

“A terrific place to hang out”
Reviewed September 29, 2013

It is, like Paramaribo itself, slightly run down and in need of a coat of paint; however the boulevard, with delightful old stately homes on one side, and on the river side cafes and snack stalls, offers visitors a perfect place to get some respite from the sun, and chill out for a while.

“Restoration and Modernization”
Reviewed July 15, 2013

Forty Million dollars is being spent to restore, modernize and beautification of the Water Front. Its looking great; its an enjoyable walk that connects you to the colonial water front and the Presidential Palace.
