The Waterkant is enjoying an uplift. But it is mainly a place where the locals share big Parbo bottles of beer. Funny, but not very special. Go there on Sunday morning when the locals have their parakeet contests. It is fun.

Nice boulevard alongside the Surinam River in the city center of Paramaribo. Some street side cafes and bars. Be a bit careful during the evening and nights as the area is not always safe.

Music around the food stands is a bit loud. Makes the place look like it's a permanent celebration. The sight on the Suriname river is fun, could see dolphins once, or just a big ship. The houses look beautiful on the other side. The almond trees form a shadowy lane. Cars tend to be too fast on the road.
