I came here with a colleague with high expectations based on the large number of positive reviews. However, we agreed it disappointed.
I had the bangbang (surinamese salmon) salad. This salad was available in two sizes and I ordered the big (dinner) one. While the portion of salmon itself was ok, there was so little salad I was very surprised. The plate was filled with two pieces of bread instead. I even asked the waiter whether they correctly brought me the large one or had mistakenly brought me a small one, but he assured me it was the big one.
Although the taste was fine, it should have had a much bigger amount of actual salad, greens, tomatoes and the like. The price for the salad was somewhere in the 30 SRD's, cheap by western standards but expensive compared to better offerings in Paramaribo. For about 10 SRD's less you can get a bigger and equally or even more tasty salad in for example 't Vat or Pannenkoeken en Poffertjes where you have bigger great tasting salads starting around 22 SRD.
I had to get a pack of Tucs at a petrol station to fill the stomach somewhat...
