Picked the place based on the picture of the swimming pool, and was surprised that it is such a cool place to stay. During the day students and interns visit to pool to lounge and hang out, adored by the facebookers enjoying the free WiFi. Great cocktails, I especially loved the Strawberry Daiquiry. Staff is great too, very helpful.
The friday night afterparty is starting at 03:00 (technically a saturday already) and lasting until daybreak with nice house music, and people in the pool. The tuesday I arrived there was a live band playing until late too.
On the technical side, their aircos are very silent and powerful. Power outlets in the room and around the swimming pool accept EU/NL power cords. Place is 2 streets away from the historic city center, next to the Palm Garden. Rooms can be noisy with parties below, rain on the zinc roof and lucky couples next door, but that does not happen every day. Rooms and bathroom are very clean. Shower has cold water only (which is lukewarm in Suriname), which is surprisingly bearable after the first few seconds. Breakfast is better enjoyed outside, for instance at Zus&Zo (5 houses away).
Don't go here if you are boring.
