“I will stay here again”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 28, 2012

There aren't many choices in Asuncion when it comes to hotels ... It's either high end or ... Well ... Low end!
I have found myself very well here. The personel are all very friendly and efficient.
The food is good and generous portions.
Gym is a bit on the small side of things, a little cramped but the equipment is up to date.
Loction of the hotel is good, a little outside of the centre of Asuncion, but with a taxi, it's literally 10 mins away. There is a good and big shopping mall across the road, which offers everything one needs.
There is a good restaurant and a few drinking holes nearby as well, so enough to keep one busy in the evening.

Located in a privileged residential neighborhood surrounded by gardens and trees and near the growing business and financial district.
This hotel is also within walking distance of a major shopping center and five minutes from Ñu Guazu Park – an ideal spot to jog and exercise. The unique Museum of Ethical Arts is also close by, and the artisan's city of Luque, downtown, and Silvio Pettirossi International Airport are just 10 minutes away by car.
Stay connected to what's important to you with our lobby "connection destination," the Link@Sheraton experienced with Microsoft. This comfortable technological lounge will allow you to surf the Internet, send e-mails, and print all the information you need through a PrintMe.com station. The Lobby Bar, with its casual and relaxed atmosphere, is a favorite meetings spot for cocktails, tasty snacks, and late-night socializing.
Guest rooms and suites are thoughtfully designed and tastefully decorated to create a mood of casual elegance. The relaxing and superior comfort of The Sheraton Sweet Sleeper™ Bed, specially designed to ensure a dreamy and restful night's sleep, awaits in every guest room as well.

Location - It´s far from old town but located in a area with restaurants, shops, hotels.Breakfast was very good, including some paraguayan speciaties .They offered a executive room, with a 6-8 p.m happy hour, a lot of food, including paraguayan specialities, and one drink.
To eat is expensive in hotel, even a simple sandwich, but it´s a Sheraton.
I had a problem on last niight. They had a event in hotel, a party, and become very noise after night. They apologize and I ask to move to another room, so I could sleep.I think that it happens in week-end, so if you are a light sleeper like me, ask them before.
Nexy day a asked for a discount because of last night and they agreed and gave. After they sent a email apologizing again and offering rewards points.

Room Tip: On opposite side of event area.

After visiting Encarnacion, the Jesuit Ruins, and Ciudad del Este, it was simply bliss to stay here at the Sheraton Asuncion at the end of our trip before leaving Paraguay.

I'm a gold SPG member and from reading past reviews, was not expecting a room upgrade but indeed I got an upgrade to the club floor! This hotel is fairly small at only 9 floors with less than 20 rooms per floor so I feel that during the week when most of the guests are here on business, it may be harder to get a room upgrade if you're a gold or platinum member (I was in Asuncion during the weekend.)

The hotel is far from the historic area of Asuncion. For US$15 one-way, I took the hotel taxi from the hotel to the city center in roughly 20-30 minutes, depending on traffic. The cost of hotel taxi to the airport is $25. When coming back to the hotel, I took the local bus number 30 and it only cost me roughly 50 cents!

The hotel pool and bar (with live music) on the rooftop is very nice, especially feeling the brisk wind in the evening. The gym and spa was pretty modern as well.

There is a very classy shopping mall in front of the hotel with a large food court area (i.e. Burger King) and a large grocery store.

Overall I'd come back here and stay here again next time I'm in Asuncion.

Staff at front desk spoke English very well. Thank you very much Fabrizzia for the amazing service and all your help. I can't remember the nice gentleman's name who worked the night shift on front desk but he was very helpful in telling me where the safe areas to go out in on a Friday evening in Asuncion.

We have stayed here several times and are always happy with the accomodations. We have stayed downtown and did not feel safe. The Hotel is clean and the staff is nice. We enjoy the breakfast. We were pleasantly surprised at the very comfy beds on our first stay. There is a mall a block away that is nice to walk to. It is also a straight road to the airport. The only complaint we have had is that there have not been any US or English TV channels. That may have been changed by now. We look forward to our stays in this Hotel.

Room Tip: We have never had an upgrade so not sure what other rooms are like.

The hotel is beautiful, nicely located, very good restaurant, friendly staff and has fantastic beds!
We conduct 3 events a year in the city and always try to book it for its superb services.
It is located 30 minutes from the airport, and it has transfer by private car.

Don't expect true Starwood service here! Pretty decent hotel as far as location, lounge, pool, etc. The staff are all professional and polite, but they're service is only commensurate with the price you pay for your room. Despite being a Starwood Gold-level member, I received no upgrades. When I asked to be moved to a room with less noisy neighbors (I'm here long-term unfortunately), instead of placing me on the club-levels, they accomodated by putting me in a quieter room on the cheapest floor.
They don't have much competition here.
