When we arrived the receptionist was very rude to us, we can speak a little Spanish but she spoke so fast that we couldn't understand a word she was saying and she knew we couldn't! We then asked for a towel, we paid for one, she took the money (10 py) and then served someone else, we waited patiently. When asked for the towel she said its upstairs, she couldn't be bothered to go! Later my boyfriend asked her for a map (in Spanish) she pretended she didn't understand, then when my boyfriend found one himself on the desk she said the exact same as what he had said! We felt very discriminated against and unwelcome. The girl then continued to walk around on her phone.
Furthermore the bathrooms are the dirtiest I've ever seen, no privacy in them, not a curtain across and no changing area.
The rooms have one socket with 2 plugs for an 8 bed dorm, I feel that is unacceptable.
The swimming pool looks like it needs a good scrub. You don't want to go in it.
I would not recommend this hostel to anybody and I will not be staying in a El Viajero hostel again.More
