... for the arrival of a 20-person party of loud, obnoxious wealthy locals who started ordering the staff around, while they jumped to comply, this likely would have been a five star experience. The ambiance is beautiful, and I didn't even mind that the place is located on the outskirts of the city, far from anything else, cabs in Asunción are cheap. Service on arrival was friendly, attentive, and delightful, but once this group arrived, all hands went on deck to take care of them and the rest of us in the dining room were left to fend for ourselves - the bartender got pressed into service delivering food to the other tables because none of the waiters would leave the side of the big party. That's a pretty major service faux pas, no matter who those customers were.
Food was excellent - creative and beautifully presented modern versions of Paraguayan classics. Being a hot (45C!) day it came across slight heavy, but the kitchen can't change the menu every time a heat spell strikes, and likely anything beyond iced water and maybe a ceviche would have seemed heavy, anywhere. I'd go back and try it again on another trip, without hesitation.
