The best beers in Bogota are those of BBC (Bogota Beer Company)

“great location for drinks and people watching”
Reviewed August 23, 2011

We visit The Pub on our visits to Bogota. Its the location that draws us to sit and relax over a few drinks on the outside patio which overlooks a pedestrian street in the Zona Rosa. The patio has good ambiance and is perfectly located for people watching. Its quite romantic during the Christmas period when the street's trees are adorned with lights (its quite a sight). There is imitation Irish pub decor inside which projects a dark pubby atmosphere, but its best to go there for the outside patio. At peak evening times and on weekends, there usually is a line to get seated, so its a vibrant scene. Clientele is a mix of expats and young colombians. Its a pub, not a restaurant although their bar food is ok. The Botota Beer Company supplies the draft beer, which is somewhat light and lacking character (the recommended brew for semi serious beer lovers is Monserrate Roja, the best of the bunch). Service for us has always been good.

It had to be done. You are miles away from home and you check out the local Irish Bar (there's always at least one). And like English/Irish themed "traditional" pubs,it is both familiar and subtly different. And it was the only place in Bogota that I saw any Europeans/Americans.

So it's ok. The sell beer from the Bogota Beer Company which brews English style beer with varying success. It's nice to sit outside and watch everything going on on Zona Rosa. There is nothing particularly to recommend it or to say you should avoid it. You probably know what it is like already.

One thing. Don't order Guiness. It was really expensive and was from a can, served by a waitress who didn't get the thing about tilting the glass etc.

“Very inconsistent, great beer, good atmosphere”
Reviewed January 1, 2011

The service you get will largely depend on how busy the pub is.
Sometimes service is great and prompt, others you will have to ask 3 times over 30 minutes before you can even get a menu. I eat and drink here about once a week usually and I am a fan of the atmosphere.
Its usually crowded, being one of the most popular (if expensive) pubs in Bogota.
A guiness for example will set you back COP$14,900 after tax and involuntary tip which is added onto the bill automatically.
Thats 7-8$ for a can of Guinness (incorrectly labelled as a pint).
The Squid rings are great, the "picada" is excellent
Burgers are above average
The Irish stew is awful, and I am a big fan of that generally
The Irish breakfast is VERY salty and they serve hot-dog style meat as "sausage", but its still worth eating.
Nachos are good as are the fried cheese things.

Good place and great local beers.
Not worth going to for just the food however, this is a pub. The food is bar snacks moreso than actual restaurant food.
