“Excellent food in a very nice environment”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 29, 2012

I became fairly savvy on Peruvian while living in Lima for several months in a job assignment and a number of leisure trips thereafter; with this in mind, I'd say that A&G flavors and standars are quite accurate.

I'd disagree that this is the most elegant restaurant in Bogota but the prices are comparable to other high-end locations. In any event, this is a great place if you want to impress; the bar is nicer than the dinning area and their pisco sour selection is unrivaled. Don't miss out on the staple appetizers and sample platters (I find them much more appealing than the usual entree choices).

The maitre will make a case against mine and, if he does his job, he'll have you spend the big bucks on a number of delicacies I couldn't even bengin to list here.

“Do not waste your money and time. Go to a really good restaurant instead of going for the famous one”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 15, 2012

We went for our anniversary expecting to Have an awesome night and meal. Wrong!!! The ambient is terrible, grey paint on the walls, cold with a breeze from the open windows, no fireplace or heating. Waiter was never to be seen, waited more than 30 min. for a drink and had to ask them 4 times. Food was not as expected or described on menu, everything we ordered was a tiny portion with a very common and tasteless sauces. Ceviches were not as tasty or close to the real Peruvian ceviche. There are really good Peruvian restaurants in Bogota, go for it( NAZCA No. 1)

“Creme de la creme”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 13, 2012

You cannot go wrong in what is probably the most elegant, high-end dining location in Bogota. The food is delicious, the service is unparalleled and the ambience is sophisticated (more formal than the one in Lima and probably with a bit less diversity in the menu as well since they can't get all the same ingredients here).

“Peruvian Gourmet Food at its best”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 30, 2011

The only complaint about the delicious Astrid y Gaston is the high prizes and small portions, but that's what you expect from a Gourmet Restaurant. I highly recommend another of Gaston's restaurants in Bogota: La Mar in Usaquen .... almost no difference with theoriginal one in Lima, just delicious.

“Bad sommelier but overall good food”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 23, 2011

The restaurant is nice and comfortable. The food is pretty good but extremely pricy for what you get. They have a terrible sommelier, very rude and can't give you any advice on wine.
