You would think that if you’ve seen 500 gold artifacts you’ve seen them all, but you would be wrong – this museum was so thorough that we spent almost four hours in this museum poring over every artifact and every detail. The Museo del Oro houses pre-Columbian gold, ceramic and stone artifacts. Every corner we turned had more amazing history to be revealed and fall in love with. It has some cool immersive experiences, too. After such a lengthy visit, there was a great gift shop and a quick café to snack and a drink to refuel.

we are not mad about ancient history and museums, but a visit to the Gold Museum is essential if you are in Bogota for 2+ days. Fascinating and intricate art and very cheap entrance fee too.

Don't get me wrong everyone says its a must see. BORING! Gold thing after gold thing. The descriptions are so vague and only state what region and a time frame of each piece. No history or interesting notes. I thought the best way to make this interesting would be to ask for my entrance fee money back.

A wonderful duration of the history of Colombia and region as it links to gold and copper and platinum.
Excellent citation and linkage of the last 14000 years of human inhabitation in region across different indigenous people.
Muisca people’s gallery is worth a careful look.

No visit to Bogotá is complete without going to the Museo del Oro, where not only gold pieces are displayed, but also precolumbine art and figures.

A real must-see.
It´s good to go early to avoid the crowds.
