This museum provides an in-depth history of the coinage of Colombia illustrated beautifully with thousands of coins and well-preserved machinery used to print money over the centuries. The wonderfully restored original building is a pleasure to walk through. There are several interactive exhibits. The adjacent Arte Collecion houses several grand halls full of mostly modern art as well as 17th and 18th-century religious objects. The walk-in vault housing two custodias(monstrances) are beyond over-the-top - the largest is made of 4,902g of pure gold encrusted with 1,485 emeralds, one sapphire, 13 rubies, 28 diamonds, 168 amethysts, one topaz and 62 pearls.
