The hotel is close to the Museo del Oro and lots of good bars, althought his area can get dodgy at night. The rooms are extremely modern and we had great views of the city and Monserrate. It was very clean with helpful staff, and an ok breakfast.

I absolutely loved the location. This is the best part of la Candelaria, and arguably in all of Bogota, for a tourist. An easy walk to the major attractions, including Bolivar Plaza and Museo Botero. Tons of restaurants, bars, and cafes in the immediate area, including the Juan Valdez downstairs and Crepe & Waffles just up the street. Very safe during the daytime, but you need to be careful at night.

The staff was friendly, helpful, and easygoing. All interactions were a genuine pleasure.

My room on the fifth floor had a stunning view of Parque de los Periodistas and the mountains beyond. Room itself was fine. Reasonably sized, decently furnished, and clean. Free wifi was solid.

The big issue here is street noise. The rooms are not airconditioned, so you need to open the windows for fresh air. During the day, there's constant heavy traffic on the street below. And while it quiets down some at night, the noise is definitely an issue. If you are at all sensitive or a light sleeper, you will definitely want to request a room on the back side of the building. And miss out on that spectacular view.

It is in the historical center, near to the Av. Jimenez and Museo de Oro, really good location, but the room is not good, when I entered the room after check in, the fridge was not in the right place (was moved out), and it was opened, the floor was really dirty, then I checked the room of my friend, it was dirty too.

And the hotel is on a plaza, quite noisy at night.

Located in the center of the old city. Only a block from the Gold museum.

Pros
1. Clean and modern
2. Nice showers
3. OK breakfast. Minimalistic
4. Safe but a bit dodgy outside
5. Cool views of the mountains from our balcony ( not all rooms have)
6. Lot of local action on the streets outside hotel
7. Juan Valdez coffee right next door
8 good room for the price
9. Nice staff

Cons
1. Quite a big party in the park.
2. This might be "pro" for some. They openly sell and smoke weed in the park outside the hotel. Other highs also available
3. A bit noisy at night but not really bad
4. Loss of privacy from balconies. Can see inside adjoining room from the balcony

Stayed: March 2014

Pros: Coming to Bogota ? This is a REALLY nice place to stay. Very centrally located in an interesting and fairly safe part of the city near the Museum of Gold and a nice safe walk to the other museums and art galleries close to the main square. There is a grocery store, what passes in Colombia for a bakery, a couple of burger joints (including a Sabor Carbon) on Avenida Jimenez just around the corner. The hotel itself is secure, clean, and bright. WiFi signal good enough for Skype. The rooms (ours at least, and we stayed in several) had a push-button control that operated a motor-driven screen that completely covered the windows to reduce noise and shut out the light. If your room faces east (the park in front of the hotel) make sure you lower it at night to keep out the morning light.
Cons: No air conditioning. Walls are a little thin so bring ear plugs in case you get loud neighbours: The TVs are wall-mounted & our neighbours turned theirs on at 3:45 A.M. to watch CNN. Coffee machine in the room but only one dose of coffee provided - no matter how many nights you are staying.

Very convenient in historic downtown of Bogotá. 1 minute walk from Museo del Oro.
Comfortable rooms with nice bathroom. Coffeemaker with great fresh coffee.
Nice breakfast, very good and strong wifi.
And not to forget the very friendly and helpful staff. I got many tips and advise that made me want to come back to Bogotá soon.
The Airport is impressive new and modern, taxis to the hotel run by the meter and cost just $ 10,-
Bogotá is a very welcoming place for tourists and the BH Bicentenario is the perfect place to stay.

Room Tip: You may want to take a room with a view to the mountains

This was such a cool place to stay for a first time visitor to Bogota. Nice secure modern facilities within walking distance of museums, great restaurants, shopping, and universities. Breakfast was very good but if I wanted a latte and a biscuit, there is the Juan Valdez coffee shop right next door. I enjoyed visiting the street vendors in the university park on Saturday. Enjoyed several local restaurants and the museo de oro, all within walking distance. This was mainly a working trip with Habitat International.
