A few years ago, Krave in Vegas with 70K sqf tried to advertised itself as the biggest gay bar in the world. They never were able to open but probably they didn't know that Theatron in Bogota (Colombia) was already the biggest gay bar with about 65000 square feet, 5 floors , 13 different environments occupying a whole city block with a capacity that could easily reach 10000 people or more. To put that in perspective that is about 4 times the size of the Abbey in Los Angeles, 5 times the capacity of Amerika, the largest gay bar in Buenos Aires or 9 times the capacity of Heaven in London.

The bar opened as Teatrino in 2002 with just a fraction of the capacity but over the years has added new environments (Theatron, Plaza Rosa, Metro, Beerlin, Templo, Eva, 360, Epoca, La Cantina, Palma , Baru,) for different musical tastes including Pop, Electronic, Reggaeton, salsa, house, rock, etc. It even includes a rooftop bar with views of Bogota.

The cover is about $10-$15 Dollars which includes an all-you-can-drink cup that you can fill up until certain time of the night. You may not have that many options of brands or even types of liquor as they probably only will serve Vodka, Rum and Aguardiente and mix it with some available flavored soda drink. But you still will get drunk nonetheless. For beer, energy drinks or brand name liquor you have to pay extra which may be inconvenient as you first need to get in line to get a receipt for each purchase and then go to the bar.

There is usually some show at the main bar around 1am that can include a drag performance, dancers and even sometimes big artists like Colombian Fanny Lu, Marbelle or international like Boy George.

Not all environments are open every day but usually Saturdays are the busiest when the whole club is open.

Huye multi level/theme disco. The night I went there, I wasn't impressed with the crowd: a lot of people but not packed.
The charge is 30.000 pesos, seems very expensive but it is open bar meaning that ravellers are dancing and drinking; well, I am not sure which one comes first.
I was expecting an electrifying ambiance where the whole crowd was partying. All, I found is a bunch of groups having fun among themselves, unlike the other smaller ( easy ) clubs around Chapinero.
A lot of straight couples, lesbians and gays, but the latter being in minority in my opinion.
I went there because it was the talk of the town but prefer other venues.

What is NOT to talk about this amazing huge club that is a complete city block. I agree with many other reviews of this place about the immensity and magnanimous size of the place is a lot to take in.

Dress Code: Casual. You are able to wear whatever you are comfortable but I highly recommend jeans, sneakers, and a shirt

Cost: Its Open-bar (rail liquor) for the price you pay to get in which is very worth it. The cost is very small and does not break the bank, if anything its worth the cost.

The place: Theatron has approximately 10-12 thematic bar's in the place. It is literally a bunch of theme bars that are different from Salsa music to country music. Both indoor and outdoor bars along with various scene's in the location you walk out of one and keep walking into a new bar or scene with a complete bar, space to dance, and people there. This place has all the bells and whistles of an awesome club and if your NOT a club fan, this is one of those places you should really check out and visit. Its worth it!

Drinks: *TIP*: Giving the bartenders a tip is strongly suggested. Most of the people who go there do not tip and this is a place that goes a long way. The pour is very strong (or however you like it) and the drinks come much faster when you tip and show appreciation to the bartenders. They truly enjoy it. If you want a better tip, when you have your plastic cup (You get at the entrance)- fold a peso or a dollar in your hand and give it to them with the cup, you'll get noticed quickly and get your strong pour and drink and back to dancing or watching. Strong bar and very good selection.

Shows: The main bar has the drag show so it's worth checking out and reviewing. It is a strong show since the main stage is an actual stage. There are full out productions which leave the US shows lacking in ideology and freshness.

Overall: A MUST VISIT. A great place and a wonderful place to go experience a strong nightlife. There is LITERALLY something for everyone.

OK, I'm not a big fan of gay bars or discos. However, I was reading some of the reviews on here and decided this couldn't be missed. I recommend you go on a Saturday night because that is when it is the busiest. This warehouse disco has at least 10 different bars with different themes in it. On the rooftop is a lovely open air place to smoke or just hang out, and if it's cold there's a fire going. With your entrance admission you get unlimited drinks but the booze is really watered-down. I decided to go for the beers which were about two dollars apiece. Even though I don't like discos I enjoyed this place just to see how the locals enjoy a night out. The music was good in every room and you really didn't have to worry about not liking the music because there was always some place else to go. I would say there was about 2 to 3000 people there it was immense in a bit crowded but not awfully crowded. If you stay till closing. You're bound to see if you people vomiting in the streets, or in the bars for that matter. It's all part of the fun. Don't miss it
