“Excellent, well organised Colombian tour”
Reviewed March 15, 2014

We have just enjoyed a 3 week 'tailor made' tour of the highlights of Colombia, organised by The Colombian Way. We had some ideas about the areas we would like to visit, and we sent these and our budget to The Colombian Way, and they prepared a detailed itinerary for us to consider. This suited our requirements, the accomodation they suggested was good, and the overall cost was well within our budget.

After taking their excellent tour of Bogota, with Juan Carlos, we visited the coffee region and stayed in a beautiful Finca. We then went to the old traditional village of Salento, with its cool climate and mountain views. After returning to Bogota, we visited the Salt Cathedral, on the way to the wonderful Villa de Leyva, and then Barichara, stopping a few nights in each. Then it was the small fishing village of Taganga, on the Caribbean coast, with a day visit to Tayrona National Park. Finally, we spent a few days in the beautiful city of Cartagena, with its fine buildings, forts and coast.

The Colombian Way arranged the four flights, transfers to and from the hotels, and the road transport, all of which went perfectly to plan, with good vehicles and safe drivers. The hotels they had reserved for us varied in quality, but were generally very good. If we had any questions, we contacted Mark , who was our contact, by email and always got a quick response. We found Colombia to be quite relaxed, and local people very friendly. We did not feel that there was a problem with security where we visited. Our thanks go to Mark for all his help and recommendations

“Excellent tour!”
Reviewed January 13, 2014

My husband and I had 3 full days Bogota for activities. Bogota City Tour was the way we started our stay in Colombia. Our guide was Juan Carlos, native Colombian, who spoke very good English, was knowledgeable, extremely friendly, and very flexible. Soon after we met he figured out our interests and was very accommodating. There was quite a bit of activities on plaza Bolivar around the current city major and we were very lucky to see those. At the end of the tour when the car came to take us to out hotel, we opted for staying in Candelaria for the night and take a cab to the hotel. We had a dinner with Juan Carlos, talked a lot about Colombia and had an excellent time. He accompanied us in the taxi to our hotel in Chapinero to make sure we got there safe. Impressive & very professional.
Our driver, Alejandro was very friendly and extremely punctual. Always smiling and in a contagiously good mood.
As far as the tour, it is very comprehensive and well thought & organized. Cannot be better.
Kudos to the owners, Mark and also Pascal, for rearranging things at the very last moment. Our flight to Bogota arrived at 3am instead of 10:30PM the night before. Waiting for the flight, we were sending anxious emails to Mark not knowing when we would make it to Bogota and if at all to our city tour. Once in our hotel in Bogota, in the wee hours, we contacted Mark again and asked to keep our tour, and...driver and guide were waiting for us in front of our hotel at 9am as initially arranged!!! What more can one ask for! BIG THANK YOU!!! Polina

“One-day Walking Tour of Bogota”
Reviewed January 1, 2014

My friend and I had only one day to see Bogota at the end of our trip to Colombia, and the guide provided by the Colombian Way did a great job of escorting us to many of the highlights. We had a walking tour of about 5 hours, done at a comfortable pace with a knowledgeable Colombian guide, Juan Carlos, who spoke good English and who was open to lots of questions. We started at Cerro de Monserrate, descended into town where we visited a grocery store for an introduction to native fruits, and then we continued to the magnificent Museo del Oro. From there we went to the Plaza Simon Bolivar, various government buildings and the colorful Santa Clara church, followed by a tour of part of the university district. The tour was well done, and I would recommend using the Colombian Way if you are traveling in Colombia. Mark, the owner we worked with, was great in planning the trip and in sharing what time he could with us while we were there.

“Round trip in Bogota”
Reviewed December 7, 2013

The Colombian Way organised a perfect round trip. I stayed in Bogota for three days, then travelled on to Perreira, Saltento, Medellin and Cartagena. Salento is good for hiking if. Cartagena
is perfect for beach holidays and quite safe. I was two days in Medellin. I think its enough two days in Medellin. Hotels (Parkway, Finca La Negrita, Diez, Tres Banderas) were all fine. Tres Banderas in Cartagene was the best. All guides were professional and friendly. If you do not speak spanish I absolutely recommend to get a guide.

“Great Value!”
Reviewed November 13, 2013

We really enjoyed our day trip with driver Alejandro to Guatavita and the Salt Cathedral. Beautiful sites - mostly a self-guided tour given the language barriers.
