“worth a trip”
Reviewed February 13, 2014

We went after seeing it from Mount Monseratte - took a taxi from the cable car station there - it was deserted - he waited then took us into the center to the Museo del Oro for about 55,0004 (£20). I beleive it is busy on a Sunday - not quite as impressive when you get there - but well worth a visit as not many people go there.

“Perfect for GORGEOUS day time views!!!”
Reviewed August 12, 2013 via mobile

If you want a place that is not too crowded, has beautiful architecture, breath taking views and is perfect for pictures, this is it!!
I'd recommend going during the day as the drive gets a little steep & the place is a little lonely except for the 2 small-scale souvenir sellers. There are two cute little chapels than you can explore as well. Definitely A must in Bogota!

“Best view of Bogotá.”
Reviewed December 29, 2012

I was not expecting to visit the Cerro de Guadalupe, but it turned out to be my favorite spot in Bogotá . You can see the entire city and also you have a great view of Montserrate (Lower than Guadalupe on the next mountain over). There is a cute little church that you can go to Into and look around, but the big draw is the statue Guadalupe.
Overall its very quiet. I was there on a Monday afternoon with great weather and there was only on other local family up at the top.
Just a note that you definitely need to drive up to the top. Most of the yellow taxis will NOT agree to take you to the top because of safety concerns and fear of destroying thier transmissions. At the bottom of the narrow road that takes you up to the peak, there is a historically, very dangerous barrio. They used to blockade the road and rob the drivers and passengers. However there is now police presence on decent.
