“Nice hotel, Nice area”
Reviewed June 2, 2012

I have stayed at the Hotel Dann Norte several times for business. The restaurant has very good food. I haven't been in the bar, but it looks well appointed. The rooms are clean and the staff is friendly. Some of the staff speak limited english if your spanish is weak. All in all a great hotel for a reasonable price.

I have stayed at many luxury brand hotels around the world and would rank this hotel with any of them.
We arrived early (8:00AM) they gave us a room right away. They also offered us a late check-out for 7:00PM the next day. I have never seen that service before in any hotel. They catered to our needs.

The room was great. Clean & fresh. Location was excellent! The staff were super friendly!!! Oscar Urrego ( the guest service rep) was so helpful & friendly. The food was amazing and top quality. This hotel is indeed a gem and worth much more than its cost. I'm from Canada and my expactions are high. When I am in Bogota again I will indeed stay at this hotel! Thanks you all for your friendly service. Kevin

We experienced a rather unenjoyable stay at the Bogatá Dann Norte and were delighted to leave both the hotel and indeed the city.

Our room was tired and in need of a refurb. We had too many problems meaning we slept poorly every night:
Blackout curtains didn't cover the windows.
Blinds were broken.
No air con and noisy fan, meant we had to have the window open. Above problems with curtains and blinds meant temperature was never right.
Electric light was dangerous - we had to remove the bulb nightly as switch didn't work.
Shower was broken.
Steam room didn't work.

On the plus side, the breakfast was ok and the few English speaking staff were pleasant.

The best thing about our stay (apart from leaving!)? The El Corral Gourmet burger restaurant 200m round the corner. Nuff said.

We were happily surprised with our rooms and buffet breakfast. The rooms are very nice with excellent beds. Request a higher room with a view of the mountains. Rooms on or near the corner of the hotel like room 619 have great views. The hotel has a very good breakfast buffet. The best restaurants nearby are the El Corral and the American Beer Co.. One short block from the hotel is the Carulla Supermarket which also has an ATM upstairs. Definitely shop here.

Room Tip: Leonardo is a Hotel Dann Norte driver who speaks some English. He was a very good Bogota tour guide...

I had a a nice stay at the Dann Norte Hotel in Bogota, I enjoyed the service, the room and the location overall since is very close to the "Unicentro" mall and not sot far from other restaurants, malls and discos. I will not recommend taking the hotel's cab service since is very expensive and just by contacting the concierge or the reception, they may find something more accomodating, the restaurant by the lobby was OK, overall I think it was nice, clean, and enjoyable.

Room Tip: Try to book a room in advance and not viewing the main since it might be noisy during the day. I us...

We had a one day stopover in Bogota so we stayed at this hotel for 2 nights. The hotel is clean and the rooms are spacious with everything you need (including free internet) but the furnishing are dated making it not as good as it could be. Breakfast was included.... fresh omelettes cooked to order made it worthwhile, the rest was just average. The location could have been better. If you only have one day in Bogota like we did, you may want to stay closer to the Historical Centre... we had to take a taxi which took about 20 minutes (a little more with traffic) and it cost about US$10 each way. Not alot of money but it was more a convenience factor - it would have been better to be in walking distance to the main attractions. We found the Porter/Doorman to be more helpful and knowledgable than the Front Desk staff, when it came to maps, directions and restaurant suggestions. The Zona Rosa is a great spot for shopping, restaurants and nightlife - definitely worth visiting. The boys went to the pub while the girls did some shopping before dinner - win/win. This won't be the nicest or most glamourous hotel you've ever stayed in but our stay was comfortable and pleasant.
