I stayed in this hotel for 4 night during my last business trip to Bogotà

The hotel has an old look. If you like modern hotel this is not your hotel. Is located in a good neighbourhood but not too close to the main shooping area.

We had to pay for the internet. Rooms are not too big and there is moquette on the floor that has an old look.

Breakfast is ok with many different choices of food and fresh orange juice.

I stayed at the Dann Carlton for one night in September 2009. The hotel is conveniently located about 12 blocks from the Parque 93 restaurant/bar district of Bogota and about a 10 minute ride from the Zona Rosa. If you are concerned with staying closer to the action, the Casa Dann Carlton is a better, albeit higher priced option. I found the service at the Dann Carlton, to be top-notch all around and very helpful to a tourist like myself in recommending activities and sights. The hotel also has a private driver on call who took us to the Zona Rosa and to the airport for our departure. This was appreciated because not being familiar with the city, the average taxis are a slightly intimidating option, especially at night. The room was on the smallish side, but immaculately clean and was nicely appointed with a valet, well-stocked mini bar and modern bathroom. The included breakfast was average but satisfactory for a quick start to the day.

Overall, the Dann Carlton is a good option for the price in Bogota. I enjoyed the old-style decor, friendly and professional service and convenient location.

This hotel is a nice option in Bogota. The rooms are large and clean although the tub does need new non-slip strips to replace the mildewed strips that are there. The staff in the hotel go out of their way to make your feel welcome and to assist you with anything you might need. The hotel was fully booked while I was there so I ended up with a room right on a major street and it is noisy – in spite of the double paned glass, but I am a much lighter sleeper than most, so this may not bother most travelers. I was also amused by the table top mini-bar set up; apparently everything you need for a great night including lots of liquor in large bottles, two brands of cigarettes, chocolate and “protection”.

Nice place for business travelers, in the North of Bogota, safe place to walk around, nice rooms, small but ok breakfast.
Pretty close to the Unicentro mall

Nice place with price performance balance

The first 2 rooms they gave me I could not stay in because the chemical odor from a recent carpet cleaning affected my breathing. Finally they gave me a room with hardwood floors. Then unbelievably a Wedding Reception with a disrespectful live Salsa Band upstairs in the Penthouse started at 10pm and lasted until 2:30am on a Friday night ,prohibiting any idea of sleep. The music was reverberating thru the entire hotel as I was 4 floors down and still had the walls vibrating. I called and told them to turn it down and they said they would but there was hardly any difference. They put the rent of the event above the interests of the hotel guests. Then at 8am the next morning their construction project began with hammering on my floor. Unbelievable for $120 per night and I checked out 3 days early. They did not apologize at checkout for the noise. Finally my early check out led to confusion and a missed lunch date with a new Colombian girlfriend I had flown down specifically to see and looks like has ended a romance- A total busted trip. Thanks dann carlton.

We stayed for two nights at this hotel as part of a longer trip to Colombia which we booked through a travel agent.
The staff were friendly and accommodating and the room a good size. Apart from a large double bed, there was a small sofa and coffee table, mini bar, cable tv, dvd player (films available to rent at an extra price), safe, and a spacious sink area with a wall-mounted hairdryer outside of the bathroom.
There is also a gym which guests are free to use.
Breakfast at the hotel was good: buffet style with fresh fruit, fruit juices, a selection of breads and cereals, ham and cheese, and hot food, with staff on hand to serve you hot beverages and toast your bread for you.
The hotel is located in what appears to be a safe area of the city, not far from a large mall and the Hacienda Santa Barbara shopping centre.
We dined out in the pedestrianised 'La T' and 'Parque 93' zones which were both a short taxi ride away. (Ask for a taxi at the hotel - there are cars waiting outside - or at the restaurant you eat in. They'll call one free of charge and, for security, may give you a two-digit number which the taxi driver will ask you for).
One thing to bear in mind: the hotel isn't very close to La Candelaria (the historical centre of the city). The traffic in Bogotá can be bad and we took 35 minutes by taxi from the hotel to La Candelaria on a weekday morning.
