After its renovation, the rooms look very modern and stylish. Great staff, very pleasant and attentive; it took me two minutes the check in and be accompanied to my room.
The location is great, near one of the best commercial districts of the city. However, the street where the hotel is located is calm and nice.
Loved the atmosphere of the hotel, always decorated with flowers, silent and elegant.
They had one of the best beds I've ever slept on in hotel rooms around the world .. very comfortable !
Probably, the only thing I would change would be the breakfast buffet .. I'd love a little more variety.
100% advisable

This is a great hotel in a great location - near shops and restaurants in Bogota. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast service was a bit patchy but as we were there for leisure it wasn't a problem for us and the quality of the food made up for a lot. The rooms were a good size and nicely decorated.

We were in between this hotel and another (which happened to be right next door) and I must admit, I was the best decision. The service impecable, the rooms extremely tastefuly designed, linens were excellent quality, the bathroom toiletries are all from L'Occitane, etc.
I'm really fuzzy about not sleeping on my own bed, and I must say that even being 6 months pregnant, I slept like a baby!
The concierge arranged for all of our turist site excursions, even going out of his way at times.
The only thing I have to complain about is the croque monsieur that I ordered from room service that was really bad. They made up for it in the morning by giving us complimentary breakfast in bed! So, no complaints!

I had a beautiful room and the staff did thier best as I don't speak spanish but the restaurant food was pretty dismal. Luckily there are many good restaurants in clos proximity.

This is a very comfortable hotel that is well-located in an affluent area of Bogota with plenty of restaurants and shops within close walking distance.
The staff are very attentive and welcoming.
There is some refurbishment work taking place so the main restaurant was not open. However the overall experience was great.

Spent 9 nights in Bogota at the Sofitel. The hotel is in a great location right next to the Zona Rosa which is full of high end malls, hip clubs and great places to eat. It is also very safe. You can easily walk for 10 minutes to Parque 93 which also has great places to eat and drink. As for the hotel our room was very small and dark (kind of depressing) but modern. Unlike the other reviews I hated the bed. Although there is a down mattress pad the mattress is hard as a rock, I spent a week at the chiropractor when I got home and my back is still hurting. My travel partner didn't mind the bed although he could sleep on the floor and not be bothered. The sheets were great along with the granite bathroom. As one review noted plan on fighting constantly with the glass shower door to keep it closed. We requested it to be fixed 3 times but to no avail. The a/c was set on the coldest and only kept the room cool not cold. They have nice touchs in the room like a flat screen tv with cable (over 15 english channels), a safe and a mini bar. They also brought nice amenities at night such as chocolate covered strawberries however don't plan on a bed turndown. The breakfast is way overpriced for what you get, its better to walk to the "diner" at Parque 93 it tastes better and is cheaper and is open at 8am unlike anyother eating establishmentin the area . Do not miss eating lunch or dinner at "Central" on the same block as the hotel, it was fantastic. The hotel has one free computer with internet off the lobby. Do not expect a large lobby or grand entrance, its small but nice looking. The gym is a joke although there is plenty of free bottled water. The hotel staff is extremely nice however the concierge doesn't always know the answers to common questions such as is there a tour of the city but they are so nice its hard to be upset! Take a tour of the Church of Salt, its worth the time and money. This section of Bogota is safe, you cannot miss the police and security guards on every corner in northern Bogota becareful downtown. Be aware it is not easy to exchange US dollars in Bogota other than the airport the only place was the Andino mall near the hotel on the 3rd floor. The hotel does not exchange money. There are many many banks in the area although they do not do any money exchanges. Also if this is your first time in Bogota when you exit the international terminal turn right and there is a taxi stand. The rate to northern Bogota is a fixed rate of 20,000 pesos around $9 US, make sure to use the yellow taxis or you will be sorry. By the way there is a halfway decent gym called the spin club right around the corner from the hotel.

Okay, the beds are very comfortable, I'll give them that but for the price......not necessarily the best deal. Internet....extra, honestly, it's 2009, any decent hotel should give it away, and for the Sofitel at $200US+ per night, it's almost a crime that they charge for it at all. Okay, moving on...continental breakfast.....extra. I mean the coffee is great ..but what the heck, this is Colombia, the cofee is good at McDonald's. Then there is the rooms.... my closet in Chicago is bigger than the room I have here. Like I said, great bed though and nice sheets, but the room ....not so much. It's more like a prison cell. Tiny window and the room is like 10x12. Nice bathroom however the door opens in and is very difficult to manuver. Staff is friendly, location is great but with the Hamilton and Morrison plus a dozen others in the vacinity........I'd stay here again only if the others were full.
