This place is small, and O so cozy. The food is simple, Colombian food. I.e. Ajiaco, meats. Nice fruit juice selection. Locals eat here and so should everyone else. Just a short distance from Hotel de la Opera and the Botero Museum. Love it!

Very nice restaurant in historic downtown. The menu is very short and everything is good. Here you must try the "ajiaco". Is the best version I ever tried in Bogota. Eventually you can ask to divide the "ajiaco" in two portions to share.
The "bandeja paisa" is also very good but you have to be really hungry.
Is an affordable place to try the most emblematic dishes of the colombian cuisine.
There is a large variety of desserts, I tried the "divorcio" (divorce); it is delicious.

We were recommended this restaurant by our tour guide and it did not disappoint. It has a great atmosphere, quite cosy inside. There is a good choice of food, we both settled for the vine leaf with chicken and rice in. It was delicious and very cheap (5000 pesos). Our waiter was very helpful considering we have very little Spanish, and went out of his way to show us what the different foods were.

A trip to Bogotá without a stop at Mama Lupe's is not a trip to Colombia! I make a point to visit this restaurant every time I am in Bogotá. Located in the center of the historical district and close to all major attractions and museums, I have yet to find authentic Colombian cuisine as authentic and tasty as Mama Lupe's. The cuisine and the atmosphere make this place what it is. Prompt service, excellent food, menus available in English, courteous and friends staff. The prices are reasonable. Thank you Mama Lupe!
