We've spent two months travelling in South America - eating in all kinds of spots, ranging from hole in the wall joints for locals to flash $300 dinners for two. This place rates #1 for us in quality of meals. Menu is small and simple, but food is incredibly yummy. Prices are reasonable, nice ambience, and chef Juan Pablo gives you a very genuine and welcoming service. We went twice in the 5 days we stayed in Candelaria. What we ate: grilled chicken, home made burger, fresh take on traditional Colombian bean dish - all were great. Wine reasonable, nice mixed green salads (which we had been craving!) - oh and cool jazz!

Fresh, tasty ingredients - delightfully prepared - with innovative variations on traditional favorites.

We originally stumbled into this restaurant because it was the only TripAdvisor-recommended one close enough for our sightseeing-weary feet. What a piece of good dining fortune!

It's a cozy, quiet two-story nook with chill jazz drifting through the air and decorated with nostalgic antique relics while a couple of regulars chat quietly at the small bar. The chef might end up serving your dinner himself and talking with both pride and humility about his cooking. Which is delicious! He has a knack for varying common recipes just enough to infuse new enjoyment in them but not startling your tastebuds with anything gratuitously exotic - try the fried plantains with guacamole or the crispy yucca chips drizzled in rosemary olive oil.

We ate there twice during our short stay - and ended up ordering the same thing each time: rare and flavorful roast beef and a type of Colombian stew/goulash/stir-fry made of rice, beans, plantains, choice of meat and simple, delicate seasonings.

We were recommended to this restaurant from the Swiss Bakery on Calle 10 (also a great find) and were told to eat their roast beef. I am not a big lover of beef but this was so good I don't think I can eat it anywhere else The roast beef was in a sandwich or as an entree and it was so delicious - beautiful thin strips of luscious tender beef. The wine was great and affordable. Their empanadas, homemade sausage and salad were unique. The daily special of fish and chips was mouthwatering and moist. They did no wrong in the two times we were there. We thought it was the best place we ate in Bogota.

This resturant was wonderful. The food was great but the best part was feeling like you were a guest of the chief in his own kitchen. He and his staff are very nice and friendly. They also speak some English, a plus for those of us who are Spanish impared :) One of the best meals in Colombia so far!
