We ate at the Museo del Oro Café expecting great things (based on TripAdvisor reviews). We started off with empanadas that were very tasty, but my main entree left more to be desired. Both the steak and the fried egg in my meal were overcooked (the egg was the texture of rubber) and it was far too salty. The sauce on the dish looked and tasted like diced canned tomatoes, definitely not what I expected. That being said, my girlfriend ordered a soup that was quite delicious, although it was difficult to eat because the vegetables were oversized.

Terrible service, waited 30 mins to get to the head of the line and only then they bothered to organize us a table for 5 people (when we arrived at the restaurant the Maitre d was told that we were 5), it took us an hour to get seated.
this is not the best restaurant in the center of Bogota, and this is not an authentic Colombian restaurant. This is just another bad restaurant that belongs to the same people that own archie's (worst pizza in town) and Salto del Angel......

Wow. Just wow. My Colombian friend wanted us to have a taste of "authentic" Bogota so she took us to the...Gold Museum? We thought this was a little strange at first but, hey, the MoMA in NYC is known for its cafe as well as its art so why not? We ordered some empanadas, ceviche, and the arepa. The appetizers were delicious, but they were just an entry point to the soup. Three of us ordered the chicken soup with avocado and corn. The bowl was as big as my head and filled with tender pieces of shredded chicken and half a cob of corn. It came with a bowl of rice and a giant slice of avocado on the side along with sour cream and limes for garnishing. The trick was incorporating all the accessories into the soup to make sure you got a bite of each element. The broth was almost the consistency of a bisque - thicker and more viscous due to the corn. It was not overwhelmingly flavored so the chicken really shined through. Possibly the best chicken soup I've ever eaten.

And don't forget the juices! They have every fruit imaginable. Eat and be merry (and maybe check out the gold museum...).

The center of Bogotá lacks first-rate eateries. This is super. Excellent Cobb salad and Italian food. This restaurant is part of the same restaurant group that owns one of the best Italian restaurants in city. Fine service. Very busy at 1 PM try to make it there by 12:30.
