“Great staff!!”
Reviewed March 2, 2013 via mobile

We had our bags stolen on the bus on the way to Bogota, and when we arrived, the staff all jumped all over it to help us get our passports back which had been recovered back in Pasto. They were all so good to us! They even continued to help is after we had left Bogota.

The room was comfy, breakfast is good and always beer available.

It was a very stressful time for us, and the staff were totally amazing. Thank you La Pinta!!

Overall I really like this hostel. Staff are friendly. There is a good breakfast which have not had in any other hostel in Colombia. The 4 bed dorm is much cheaper than the 6 bed. Also stayed in a private room, nice but Walls are thin if you are close to bathroom. In lovely area which I prefer to downtown candelaria. The only problem i had was that I asked for an airport pickup. They did not come to airport and I didn't get a satisfactory explanation. As I had arrived in south America for the first time, this was v disappointing. And for reference if you are arriving at airport, it costs around 20 000 pesos ina taxi, check they use the meter. Use the yellow authorised taxi which you will see right outside.

I stumbled upon this gem of a hostel while staying in Bogota in December. I have stayed in MANY hostels around the world- but this one def stands out! The hostel is very clean and all of the staff were super helpful. The beds were very comfortable, complete with DOWN comforters! It felt like I was staying in a friend's house! They also organized great events at night time- took us all the way out to Andres Carne de Res in Chia...super fun time! The neighborhood is very safe and a cab ride away from everything. The owner is a young native Colombian who gives great local recs on how to see the city like a local. Would def recommend this place to a traveler of any age!

Bogota will never feel as safe as London or New York, but there are certainly safer areas of the city and this is one of them. The location is within easy walking distance of Zona G, the restaurant district, and a bunch of bars, notably the gay area.
Even though this is a safe area, it's still smart to be careful at night. it doesn't feel that safe at night even though it is.
The rooms are good sized and comfortable, though we were there for four nights and they never changed our sheets or cleaned our room the entire time. Others have reported their sheets were changed every day. Not sure if that only happens in the dorms or if we just got screwed. We had a private room.
The bathrooms are immaculate and there's a cool patio for guests to hang out at.
One thing to note is that the hostel is not well marked. There's no sign, it's just a flag hanging off the second or third floor. When you arrive, just make sure you're at the right place before the taxi leaves. There's a burger joint at the end of the street and a bodega next door if you need landmarks.

Clean nice looking hostel but not much to write home about. Very safe location. Convenient to transportation. Wonderful kitchen with great grocery store near by to shop. Beds are really nice. Internet great! Decent breakfast and wonderful staff. I love the two labs who just have to check everything out!

The owners are so young but run a quality place. Breakfast is bomb, beds were comfortable and clean and the dogs were extremely amiable and a great addition to my mornings and evenings. Congratulations on your top choice in lonely planet! You deserve it!

Room Tip: Trans milleniium is about three blocks away, best way to get to LA candleria. Not too Mich of a pain...

I came to la pinta after I ve been sleeping in la candelaria.......this neighborhood is definitely much better, safe and close to everything....very nice especially the area around the calle 72 for the contrast between the modern and the ancient with amazing old victorian houses which are now restaurant, bars and design shop.....at night u are just close to zonaG, calle 72 area, zona T, zona rosa ...
hostel is ok, more an house than an proper hostel (for me the parametres are ther european hostels), prices are good and clenless too......no complaints
