“Don't understand why this hotel is rated so highly!”
Reviewed March 17, 2014

We arrived at the hotel on Mar 8 in the evening. A young girl (not older than 18) greeted us and showed us to our room. The next morning we had a scarce breakfast which consisted of 2 pieces of white bread and scrambled eggs. The coffee was instant and terrible. We were served juice as well. We left for a day of sightseeing and returned back to our hotel to discover unmade beds, dirty towels and a dirty bathroom. The location of this hotel is in a quiet neighborhood and very far away from any restaurant or popular activities. We had to take a 15-20 minute cab ride to see or eat anything. There was never any adult on the premises. Two young girls under the age of 18 and a young man under the age of 18 were the persons responsible for our stay. We asked for a wake up call on the 10th at 5:30 am and did not receive one. We asked if they could possibly make us some sandwiches in lieu of breakfast because we were leaving early on the 10th and they said it was not possible. I complained to the to the the manager and he offered us a free night stay in the future. I would never return to this hotel. Seeing that this hotel is ranked #1 in Bogotá makes us wonder about Trip Adviser and makes us skeptical of using Trip Adviser as a guide for future guidance.

Room Tip: Do not get a room facing the street. The traffic will wake you up in the early morning hours.

Casanova Hotel's acomodation services are the best of all, it is located in a really safe neigborhood inside the big city.
Pretty clean, cozy, clasically decorated, always remembering the old Bogota.
Gorgeous and unique rooms, wonderful room service , tasty food, reasonable prices, WIFI, close to the airport, easy booking, and beautiful people caring of your needs.
I recomend this hotel to enjoy a wonderful time in Bogota, a great city.

My friend and I traveled to Bogotá last February and stayed at Casanovas Hotel Boutique. It is a beautiful hotel, nicely furnished and decorated, located in a very quiet neighborhood, a short taxi ride from La Candelaria (the historic part of town).

What makes Casanovas Hotel special is their customer service. From the first moment that we made the reservations, to the moment we departed we got red carpet treatment. We got help not only from the concierge who recommended places to visit and assisted on the reservations for a trip to the nearby Salt Cathedral, but also from the owners themselves. They kindly recommended restaurants worth going to, interesting walks to take, nearby money exchange offices, etc. They were extremely helpful without being intrusive.

One of the unique advantages to this hotel is the restaurant they have on site, Fornalla. Breakfast is included in the price of the room and from the moment you sit down in the outside patio (or indoors if the weather is not good) you will be treated to the best food you will ever eat in your life. The chef, who presents the food directly to the diners, talks about the dishes with the same love a parent would show while talking about a new born child. Every bite is an explosion of exotic flavors, perfectly seasoned and with a presentation worthy of a photo. We still yearn for the magnificent meals we had there!

I would definitely recommend staying at Casanovas Hotel Boutique. The price is fair, more than worth paying for the service received. We look forward to returning!

¡Estamos deseando regresar!

Room Tip: The hotel is very quiet in general. The rooms don't have heat (not a "hotel thing" but...
