“Not fancy, but made better than average by the staff”
Reviewed March 10, 2014 via mobile

It's clean, and maybe just a touch above average. Great location in town, walking distance to the Botero museum, the Museum of Gold, and Montserrat. No water pressure in the shower. Breakfast was good with eggs, arepas, and a fresh fruit salad. The staff were very accommodating and friendly, with little touches here and there that made our simple one night stay worth it.

You get a great welcome at the hotel from the charming, English speaking receptionists. And during your stay you will find them to be very friendly and helpful. The hotel is a small, converted, traditional building, with an internal staircase. It is the nicely furnished, with an attractive breakfast room. The rooms are comfortable and have attached bathrooms with efficient showers.

They provide a very nice breakfast, with juice, fruit, fresh rolls and a choice of eggs or yogurt and muesli. Hot drinks are available during the day and their aromatica is not to be missed.

The Casa Deco is very convenient for the city centre, only about a five minute walk. In addition there are lots of restaurants and cafes nearby.

Nicely located within the Candelaria (the historical centre of Bogota) within walking distance of the gold museum, the Monserate cable car, the Botero museum, the Bolivar square and numerous restaurants nearby.
Friendly reception and lovely decorated hotel and rooms make this a perfect place for a few days visit to Bogota.
The rooms are quite large and have minibar, free bottle of water and wifi included.
The breakfast is ok with fresh fruits and fruit juice, arepa, eggs, pancakes and toasts. There is a nice terrace on the roof to relax in the sun after a day walking in town.
The street is calm and safe, the only problem in this hotel is the noise from the inside as the indoor patio emplifies the noise so you easily can hear guests talking in the common areas.
The closest transmilenio station is "Museo de Oro" where you can catch a metrobus to the national museum, to the zona T or Parque 93. You also can take the transmilenio to the numerous huge shopping malls of Bogota.

In other words, if you look for a nice local hotel (not a chain) within the Candelaria this is a good place to stay for a few days.

This is an excellent choice in a convenient Candalaria location. It's a little more expensive than some other hotels in the areas, but worth every penny. There's English-speaking staff around 24 hours to answer any question. We arrived around 9 a.m., expecting to leave our bags until check-in, but since our room was ready, they let us have it right away. Breakfast is excellent - juices, coffee, tea, hot chocolate, eggs, breads, cereal etc. The area around the hotel is well-lighted at night and there are lots of cafes and restaurants nearby. We walked most everywhere we wanted to go from here during daylight hours, including the Macarena neighborhood, the National Museum, the Gold Museum, Botero Museum etc. and Avenida Septima.

Room Tip: We had a top floor room and there's no lift - no problem for us, but if you have trouble with st...

Hotel Casa Deco was perfect for our group of 4 visiting Bogota in January of 2014. Rooms are well decorated, beds firm but comfortable, and reasonbly quiet. This hotel has no elevator, and at 7,500 feet up, you do get winded when going to the roof but that's part of the charm. Loved having drinks (BYO) on the roof deck with great views over Candelaria, the older section of the city. Easy walk to the Cable Car/ Funicular up to Monserrat ( a must) and also close to the Gold Museum and Botero Museums, both also a must see. Very good breakfast with ample choices, a small bar, and very helpful and friendly staff and owner. Lots of interesting restaurants in Candelaria but cabs are v. cheap and you can zoom to the other midtown and uptown areas with terrific restaurants. Lots of old world charm, in the right location and friendly!

Room Tip: Choose the rooms on the roof deck or 4th floor. The room with a view towards Monserrat was great.

Great little hotel in the heart of the old district. Staff are lovely and helpful and breakfast is fantastic (the waiter is super sweet) with a very talented guitar player serenading you as you eat. Roof top is wonderful to watch the streets come alive. Would recommend this place.

First rate service. Hotel very clean and well-appointed, though our mini kitchen did not have a fridge. Tasty and good-sized breakfast. Coffee and tea available all day. Perfect location for seeing museums and sites in Candalaria, though we were advised to use cabs at night. (Cabs are cheap and hotel or any restaurant will call one for you, arriving within 5 minutes.)
