“Ajiaco, definitely the ajiaco!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 10, 2014 via mobile

I know this place is supposedly known for the best tamales in town, and we had it, and it was good. But the ajiaco, a traditional Colombian chicken soup, was to die for! Come here, try both (just because Anthony Bourdain said so?) but really the ajiaco is the reason to come. The tamales needed some dipping sauce or salsa or something. They were flavorful but not worth coming back for unless you happened to be nearby.

“Great Place, no wonder Anthony Bourdain recommended it”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 12, 2014 via mobile

Went there today after the lunch rush. My wife and I each had ajiaco and we had Rasberry and lulo juice. We planned on having the famous hot chocolate but the ajiaco was just too much! The two juices and two ajiacos were about $22, money well spent. Saw some clown complain about paying $9 for ajiaco, really guy?

“7th generation, delicious food, small space”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 5, 2014 via mobile

Dined here for lunch with spouse. Met 7th generation owner and his son (speak perfect English). Sat upstairs on the balcony and ordered tamales and fresh strawberry juice. Delicious and affordable food. The Ajiaco soup is highly recommended, but at $18,000 COP ($9 US) seems over-priced compared to everything else.

This is a highlight on the "tourist trail" in Candelaria.

“The soup is fabulous”

They have a limited menu, but what they have is wonderful. The Ajiaco soup is excellent - it is so comprehensive, it is almost a chowder.

“Best hot chocolate or agua de panela with cheese”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 12, 2014

I'm from Bogota and I guarantee you, La Puerta Falsa is a place you should go during your stay in Bogota You should try the hot chocolate with cheese or the agua de panela with cheese and almojabana, for some may be strange to put cheese on a hot chocolat but it's absolutely delicious. The cocadas are also great. And please don't leave without trying a tamal. You cannot say you visit Bogota without trying a hot chocolate and a tamal. It can get crowded as it's quite small.
