Description: Cafe-restaurant Sol y Luna is a Dutch owned and managed bar/restaurant. Because we have 4 areas, we can cater for several occasions. When you enter the restaurant it might look small, and around dinner time fully booked, but we do have a bigger non smoking restaurant area at the back upstairs. Downstairs we have the pool area with the possibility to have some drinks or a meal on comfy couches. If you carry on from there you will find our projector room for sports and presentations. You can come in to watch some sport on the flat screen TV's, read a book from our book exchange, check the internet via our free Wi-Fi or plan what the next leg on your journey will be with help from our reference guidebook collection. During big and important sport matches we will turn our upstairs area in to a real sport cinema with a beamer projecting the game on a massive screen and we get the sound through the sound system!!

“Dutch food and Belgian beer!”
Reviewed February 11, 2014 via mobile

I was surprised when I chanced upon this nice pub/restaurant and the menu turned out to have Dutch food and Belgian beer, what luck! :)

The bitterballen, spekpannekoek and saté kroket tasted great and were exactly what I needed after six months away from home!

The stella artois and leffe were reasonably priced and obviously very tasty.

Homesick Dutchmen; here is your cure!

“Good Dutch bites”
Reviewed January 6, 2014 via mobile

We had a plate of bitterballen which we really liked. Not the standard ones but filled with meat stew, nice. Afterwards we had a large platter with more Dutch bites! Also Ted's beers were really nice.

“Rude, slow and inept service - avoid”
Reviewed December 28, 2013 via mobile

Went here with my expectations low and the place still was very disappointing.

The guy who took our orders, Portuguese guy I think, was very rude and missed about half our table's orders. He acted like we were vermin that he'd gladly not have entered his establishment. A few others ordered dinner, but most of us were so put off by the horrible service that we only had apps and drinks and left for Kalakitas for amazing Mexican and beers - which is so so so much better than this dark, depressing, tourist trap.

Oh speaking of beers, they were out of most of the ones on the menu and a guy in our party ended up ordering 4 because unintentionally because they took close to an hour to bring out his next beer and he assumed that the waiters had just forgotten.

“Balletjes, Bitterballen & Bier”
Reviewed December 13, 2013

Okay, not all the things on the menu were available, but having a beer from the draft, combined with 'bitterballen' made this place worth the visit. You won't find a lot of places in this part of the world with the same atmosphere, so that made us coming back a couple of times. When the music is too loud, just ask and they will put the volume down. Also if you want to try some food which is famous in Holanda, this is your chance.
