Description: Cafe-restaurant Sol y Luna is a Dutch owned and managed bar/restaurant. Because we have 4 areas, we can cater for several occasions. When you enter the restaurant it might look small, and around dinner time fully booked, but we do have a bigger non smoking restaurant area at the back upstairs. Downstairs we have the pool area with the possibility to have some drinks or a meal on comfy couches. If you carry on from there you will find our projector room for sports and presentations. You can come in to watch some sport on the flat screen TV's, read a book from our book exchange, check the internet via our free Wi-Fi or plan what the next leg on your journey will be with help from our reference guidebook collection. During big and important sport matches we will turn our upstairs area in to a real sport cinema with a beamer projecting the game on a massive screen and we get the sound through the sound system!!

We are now sitting in the restaurant solyluna and we saw at the door that they are tripadvisor winner2013... Ok, let's go!

- They don't have all the Beers'
- they don't have cola.
- the music is verry loud or there is no music
- bad service
- They don't have enough light.
- We are waiting verry long for serving food.
- the soup is good but we're missing some salt.

“Great atmosphere”

We loved the food and good service at this restaurant. We went twice during our stay in La Paz - one night enjoying live music.

“Great westernly restaurant”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 17, 2013

First things first. We saw they had a smoke free area, and asked to be seated in it. We were placed right between the smoker tables and the bar - where they are smoking. So there is no smoke-free area as they say. The music is also a little loud.

The food, however, is plentyfull and really really good. We've eaten there twice. The steak is huge and comes with mashed potatoes and vegtables. The steak is medium-raw, so you should probably specify it if you are not into bloody steaks. All this for a little over 50 Bs, which is pretty good!

“A bit overrated”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 17, 2013

In my opinion it is a bit overrated. The place is nice and the food is good but it's too expensive for what it is, it took us hours to be served and we were seated downstairs, all alone in a big room where it was really cold. It wasn't bad either, but I didn't keep an amazing memory of that place. The waitress was very nice though !

Visited on the strength of TA reviews and Lonely Planet entry but were disappointed! Ordered 2 different coffees, both bad. Food (arabic platter) was average at best. I imagine this place is better as a nighttime drinking spot - but wouldn't recommend for coffee or lunch.
