“Weird landscape”
Reviewed April 17, 2013

I visited on a tour. It's a weird landscape of eroded mud that you could certainly think of as lunar. The guide was giving some of the eroded "columns" fanciful names that, frankly, I rarely could see the reason for. Maybe I just don't have a good enough imagination. In places the path is really narrow and a little dangerous but it made a change from being in the rest of the city. It's apparently in the lowest part of La Paz and I did notice a difference in the temperature and surrounding vegetation.
I would not visit again but it was something to do whilst in La Paz.

“Interesting landscape”
Reviewed April 11, 2013

Rather unique landscape. Quite a distance from city center. Ways to get there: take the red bus, destination at Moon Valley, take a taxi and ask driver to wait. Or shop some tour company that may sell it as part of their day tour to a snow mountain and then Moon Valley. If you don't want to go to the snow mountain, you can negotiate to just go in afternoon and visit Moon Valley for a fraction of the price. (Cheaper than the red bus)

“Awesome”
Reviewed April 6, 2013

When you are standing on top of the ridges, all you see are lots and lots of stone pillars carved by the hands of nature. Entrance was only 15 Bavarian dollars for foreigners, well worth the visit.

“Badlands of La Paz”
Reviewed April 4, 2013

Just south of the city is an area which could be from the moon, thus the name. It is sort of Badlands of South Dakota, only more convenient for a walker. The views are pretty amazing and it is worth a short taxi ride to the area. Taxis are plentiful and cheap.
