I was pretty excited to visit these ruins as they are actually older than the ruins at Machu Picchu. I visited the ruins as a guided day trip from La Paz.
The ruins themselves are remarkable given their age, etc... Unfortunately, poor management of the ruins and the renovation/excavation left me feeling more than slightly disappointed. Several key items within the ruins are not placed where they originally were (Sun gate), which seems pretty important, in my mind. Additionally, the museum is a bit disorganized and somewhat cluttered.
I would only recommend going here if you truly have an extra day in La Paz with nothing better to do AND you're not planning to go to nor haven't been to Machu Picchu.
