Nice hotel by La Paz standards. Friendly reception, hot electric shower, just down the road from main tourist sector. Good view from top floors but can be noisy. Staff were so lovely - it is our honeymoon so they picked us up from the airport, places fresh rose petals on the bed and gave us a bottle of cold fizz!

While the interior is funky, it is clean, safe and extremely affordable. The best part is the location, blocks away from the main square and great shopping and restaurants.

The beds are old and pillows lumpy; street noise is definately an issue... but we were so tired that it didn't matter for long.

I would stay here again, but would definately recommend a room at the back in the future.

The day time front desk reception woman can speak very good english and can help you with any transaction including personal help like arranging for medical oxygen for rent - she is eager & willing to help. They can also help arrange with the tours and some info in the area. The evening lady also can help and speak english, the night shift guy has limited english but can help. Great working staff!!!

Indeed very interesting decor. Seems like they have hired a fill time linoleum wallpaper guy as the rooms look like they have been tiled in the 70 's... Besides that this place is excellent value for the following reasons
Location is perfect right in the center of things
Hot showers
Quiet rooms are at the back facing the hills of la Paz
Friendly staff

Note that on weekends the road may be closed due to the fruit and veg markets but this will only cause you to have to walk 1 minute if your coming by taxi.

If your looking for luxury probably best to look elsewhere but if your looking for a centrally located place with good beds and hot showers at a decent price this place is great.

The insides of this place look like the backrooms of a 1970's strip joint. Leather padded walls, crazy murals, brassy finishings - but that's just part of the charm. Perfectly located a block from Sagarnaga (main tourist drag for tour companies, cafes, food), this hotel is quiet, very safe and perfectly comfortable. Smallish rooms - again with the lunatic decor - but clean and with hot showers, which for Bolivia is great, trust me. The landlady is an absolute delight - good English and couldn't be more pleasant and helpful with making arrangements. The landlord has a bit of an attitude, but overall this is a great base for La Paz and, for the price, ideal.

Good option for travellers with a low to mid-budget. I stayed for about 5 days and enjoyed my time there. The staff at the reception was very nice, the breakfast still one of the best I had in Bolivia, and the furnishings ... well, stuck in the 70s or so, and some parts of the hotel might need some renovation, but clean allover.

If you do not mind the heavy and kitsh decoration, this hotel is a safe and clean pick in La Paz.
The people at the front desk may be a bit cold and distant but they are reliable : they took care of a DHL for me while I was away and kept my luggage for free. If you come in winter, ask for the rooms on the side of the street, because the sun warms them all day and that makes a big difference with the one on the other side, which are freezing! There is good shower with hot water.
