An attractive hotel well located. Staff spoke English well and were very helpful. The rooms were clean and comfortable. Providing a washcloth and Kleenex tissues would make them more attractive to Americans.

Our daughter had stayed at Hotel Rosario and encouraged us go there with her because they had a better breakfast than other places she had stayed. The staff was wonderful, and the breakfast met our expectations; many varieties of bread, french toast, 3 fresh juices, lots of yogurt, oatmeal, granola, and eggs prepared to order. If you eat at the restaurant at other times I would recommend the Chairo (traditional soup). The llama steak is pretty good, too. There are several lounges and outdoor patios, and the lounge above the main floor always has coca tea, which you may need for the altitude. They also have hot water and a variety of other teas. The location is great, and just a 10-minute walk from the station for the new teleférico (funicular), which travels up to El Alto.

Room Tip: The room was pleasant, with plenty of warm blankets. If you get a room in the courtyard it will be...

Great, excellent value hotel in a perfect location for exploring La Paz. The beds are very comfortable, the staff friendly, the common areas beautiful and the WiFi was very efficient. The restaurant food was a little disappointing and I would recommend eating at a nearby restaurant.

This hotel is slap-bang in the middle of La Paz, and that is one of the main reasons we loved it and kept returning throughout our trip to Bolivia. We didn't get much time in La Paz itself and were able to see and do a lot of things just walking distance from the hotel, historic sites, restaurants etc.

People complaining about the noise - yes, if your room is facing the road there will be noise and I hate that as much as the next person - I need my sleep! However, just ask for a room in the middle of the hotel or at the back. The middle is better as there is a lovely little courtyard which is very peaceful, you can't hear noise from either side of the hotel (roads) and also the rooms seemed a little bigger.

The roof-top café/restaurant is absolutely stunning - the views of the mountains are fabulous and you get excellent Wi-Fi here. The food was hit and miss though. The first day we went the food took nearly an hour to arrive and was only luke-warm. We decided not to eat there again. However, we got caught out with time one day and decided to have another go - the food was delivered in around 10-15mins, was pipping hot and absolutely delicious (even though one of us ordered the same dish you would never have known it was the same!). Maybe they have different chefs working different days.......?

I will say this though, the service at all times and from all staff members was excellent. They were not only friendly, they remembered us, asked about our trips and enquired as to our future plans. They let us check out late one day when we weren't well and kept luggage safe for us when we went away. When our plans changed they honoured the discounted rate we had on Bookings.com and let us stay for longer. And yes, their tour desk is a bit more expensive than the ones in town but they are unbelievably well organised and will go out of their way for you at all times. You are never one of 20, you have your own personal guide (who speaks v.good English!), which makes a massive difference. Plus they are eco-friendly and can adjust to your desires. For example, on the way back from the lake Titicaca tour we enquired about the cable-car, which had only been running a week. The guide then changed plans and we got dropped off to have a tour of the area by the cable car and then took the cable car down to our hotel...... fantastic personal service, what more can you ask for :)

Room Tip: Ask for a quiet room at the back of the hotel away from the road. Or alternatively, rooms in the mid...

Hotel Rosario staff were of the highest caliber. They were all gracious and friendly. They greeted us by name and attended to our every request with ease. The standards were very high. The restaurant served excellent food and the wait staff were highly trained. This was the best hotel experience we had in Bolivia. We were so happy to have found this place and felt so at home.

We stayed at the hotel Rosario on two separate locations and loved it. The rooms are large, clean, warm and beautifully decorated with the Bolivian textiles. There is electric heater in the room as well if you will feel cold. The hotel has a very good restaurant as well. The wi-fi works very well, including in the rooms. The breakfast was great and included fresh coffee, tea, juice, fruits, yogurt, bread, jam, cheese, ham, eggs, pancakes. However what makes this hotel really special is their staff. Everyone were very nice and helpful, answered all our questions about La Paz, booked us taxis and in general made as very welcome at the hotel. If we will come back to La Paz we will definitely stay at hotel Rosario again.

Room Tip: The rooms facing patio are more quite than the ones facing the street.

La Paz Bolivia is my home. Although I primarily stay with friends when I visit, if I take visitors with me I choose to stay at the Hotel Rosario. It is not because it is the most elegant or comfortable but because it feels like I am in the La Paz of my childhood. The location is the best for me as it has you within walking distance to historic La Paz (historic buildings, churches, markets, plaza ....). Yes, you can stay in more modern areas of La Paz but you will miss out on experiencing the unique.
Getting around La Paz is a nightmare so the prospects of staying in a more posh hotel and taking a ride to visit places will be very inconvenient. Stay where you want to visit.
Also, if their chef is still with them, his food is excellent.
