We stayed here twice. Once on the 4th floor and the 5th. Our rooms were quiet, spotless and very roomy with a pleasant outlook over the square. The hotel is far away from the trouble that had hit La Paz and stopped us from going on the train to Lake Poopo, flying to Uyuni instead. The staff are always willing to help. The restaurant is quite dark but furnished beautifully. The breakfast was the best we had in Bolivia and Peru. Our dinner was delicious. An amazing tomato soup and pasta may have been a bit over priced but I wish I had their recipe for the soup. Would easily recommend. The best hotel we stayed in Peru and Bolivia.

Room Tip: Level 1 and level 2 rooms may be noisier but rooms are insulated against noises from inside the hote...

This is the third year running we have had a long holiday in Bolivia, and when we stay in La Paz we always ask our local travel agent to book us into Ritz Apart Hotel. Bolvia has so much to offer a tourist, but sometimes it can be rather hard and filled with problems to travel due to weather condintions, strikes or demonstrations. When you return from Lake Tticaca or a jungle experience, it feels like heaven to be back in the comfortable apratments of Ritz.. The hotel has a prefect location in La Paz both for sightseeing and shopping. This time we booked into the hotel 4 times, and each time we had a warm and welcoming reception (including a free drink). The hotel has one of the best restaurants in La Paz, Dukes. Excellent food varying from local Bolivian dishes to international and Italian food. The beef they served from Bolivia and Argentina was outstanding.

I have been in La Paz for few days, and almost everyday I have had to change hotel due to high occupancy (carnival season). Few hotels left me with disappointment, until up to my delight Ritz had a vacancy for 2 days. The place is located in a great area, away from the noise and the mess of "zona turistica", yet close enough to lots of sightseeing, entertainments, great restaurants and bars. Besides its fantastic location, the rooms are very comfortable, clean, huge, and filld with all the amenities. Rooms appear a bit old fasioned, but don't let that deter you. I should also add that the Duke restuarants, and the cafeteria could use a revamp, but walk 2 blocks up and you will find plenty of places to eat. To sum it up, It is truly a gem and I highly recommend it !.

We stayed one night in december 2013. Accomodation was fine. Breakfast more or less, served in a very dark and uninviting venue. Receptionist (a young lady) not particularly eager to help. The web rates overpriced according to our opinion. There is some issue of security because somebody came into the room while my husband was sleeping in the afternoon. My husband thinks that it was a hotel employee, that did not knock and wait to be called in.
Near the hotel is a bus stop for sightseing in La Paz. It is a red bus which has two routes. It is worthed. You can buy tickets on the bus.

Great business hotel, with the amenities and features I would expect from a business hotel. The concierge was unhelpful thought when it came time to make reservations but I figured that it was due to an understaffed front desk. The Duke Restaurant could use a redesign as it felt like I was having breakfast in a parish rectory. Otherwise thought the suite was great, and its central location was very convenient.

Not really sure what to say but here's the story...

Flew in from New York, landed in La Paz at 4:30am. Went through customs, took a 20 min cab and arrived at the hotel after traveling for 15 hours. We were greeted with unanswered knocks, and a security guard who told us that the hotel had been closed for more than a week and would be closed until Jan 15. Which is strange considering I confirmed only 3 days before. So we were stranded on a deserted street, in the middle of a strange city, with all luggage and no cabs. I'm not one who usually writes bad reviews (actually the opposite), but this hotel clearly needs to get their stuff in order... No apologies. No explanation.

Go to the Radisson a block away. Very helpful and much nicer in general...well as nice as a hotel can get in La Paz.

We were very warmly welcomed and offered us a glass of fresh passion fruit juice and some delicious chocolates. We were also upgraded to a luxurious and spacious suite. The staff was very helpful and courteous. We stayed at the hotel for 3 nights and had a wonderful experience. We had dinner at the hotel restaurant and the food was superb!

Room Tip: We loved our suite on a higher floor.
