I was in La Paz in November 2011 and had chosen this hotel for its location. It was very easy to take a taxi to Plaza Murillo or San Francisco cathedral and walk back to the hotel in the San Pedro area or continue on to Sopacachi further downhill.
the hotel has 2 restaurants; one more simple than the other. I had breakfast in the coffee shop and dinner in the more inventive restaurant.
I stay in the best hotels in the world for my work. This hotel matched the best in terms of overall service and amenities. I did not expect to find this based on other feedback. I felt the hotel went out of their way to make my stay safe and comfortable.
They arranged for a city tour and a Pena. You can also find a tour agency right outside in the old Panama ambassy now called El Consulate.
The hotel was super clean, always helpful - even when I had a bit of altitude sickness. Great value, excellent location, and excellent service. I will return - highly recommend.
please note that I spent 2 days in the Ritz apartments which were less than exciting despite the Sopacachi location.More
