We recently moved to La Paz and needed a place to stay until our house was ready. We stayed there for a week. One nice thing was that the altitude was a bit lower giving us ample time to acclimate to the altitude since we came from sea level. The hotel was in good condition and had comfortable rooms. The grounds were nice and they have a very large outdoor pool and a huge Jacuzzi in the spa. This is a spa and resort type setting with pretty much all the amenities one would expect. The service was great and the staff was extremely friendly. This is also a pet friendly hotel which was great for us since we had our two dogs with us. The food at the restaurant is pretty good and the staff was very accommodating when we asked for something to be prepared a special way for our baby.
If I have to say anything negative I will say that you can hear people in other rooms if they are next to you or above you, the other thing I would say is that once you are at the hotel there is nowhere else to go, this place is pretty secluded. You can walk up the hill and get snacks at one of the little minimercado’s but you will need to drive or call a taxi for anything else you are looking for.
As far as being about 45 minutes from La Paz the area is beautiful, warm, a bit lower, and peaceful. I recommend this place if you are just coming to Bolivia or if you live in La Paz and want a weekend away from the hustle and bustle of the city. They also have a great weekend brunch.
