We took the Moon Valley tour, actually only because we had a day left in La Paz and didn't know what to do. The tour was ok, not really something special. You have just one stop, at the Moon Valley - that's why they call it the Moon Valley tour I guess ;-) - and especially if you are still going to (or have been to) Uyuni, the Moon Valley is not really something special.

Also it's not really a hop-on-hop-off bus, as there is only one stop and the bus only does each circuit two times a day. So if you take the Moon Valley tour in the morning, you can stay at the Moon Valley (hop off) and get on the next bus about 3 or 4 hours later (I would not recommend this, as you can see the Moon Valley in about 20 minutes).

The website says the ticket for 60 Bolivianos includes both circuits, but after the tour, the hostess asked if we also wanted to do the Downtown tour for another 60 bs.

One thing, in case you are over 180 centimeter (about 5 feet 10), it's not really safe to sit on top of the deck. I was hit by some electricity cables and almost hit my head against a tunnel! I suggest the should use warning signs for this.

All by all, no need to do this tour unless you are really bored (and even in that case, I think I would prefer going to the witches market for the third time instead of taking this tour).

My wife and I have just been on this city tour. During the second part of the tour large pieces of earth were hurled by a man onto the top of the open-top bus, hitting my wife and some other people - well, this could happen almost anywhere. However, the woman tour guide did not come upstairs to see if we were okay (even though someone went to tell her), then she appeared about 20 minutes later to ask us for a further Bs60 each for the second part of the (northern) city tour - we had already paid Bs60 each for the first part of the (southern) city tour. But check out the website - the Bs60 rate "includes both curcuits"! Not only does this company not care about the safety of its customers, but it also tries to rip them off!

“The less tiring way to see La Paz”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 1, 2013

La Paz is 3600 m above sea level and at this altitud even walking is tiring speacially before climatization. And La Paz is all built on hill sides, the streets are very steep so nothing better to go in a City Tour comfortably seated in a bus. you see everything of more interest in the city and in the following days you may go walking around on foot on your on pace. Sagarnaga, Linares and Llampu streets have the best travel agencies to make a city tour.

“Cheaper tours around la Paz”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 30, 2013

....for package tours, don't get it from your hotel concierge because it is usually more expensive .TIP: go to avenida Illampu where there rows of travel/tour agencies who will offer you an array of not so expensive package tours based on your interest.

“Hop-on Hop-off daily tour times incorrect.”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 19, 2013

The tour times specified on their website (http://www.lapazcitytour.net/circuit.htm) do not match those posted at the main bus stop in Plaza Isabel la Catolica. As a result I missed the afternoon circuit on the only day I had free in La Paz. Not that it mattered. There was also a hand written notice on the bus stop saying the bus wasn't running until further notice because of mechanical problems.
