“Good value hotel in La Paz”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 1, 2012

For those on a budget this hotel is a well positioned good value hotel.
The wall paintings on most walls add to the chartacter of the place. Some rooms are better than others so ask to see your room first if you can.

Value for money at this place is definitely very good, helpful staff, laundry service, rooms rather quiet, beds a bit worn and soft. The interior decor is definitely special but the place has a good atmosphere (and is quite large). Rooms are cleanand well equipped, internet is fast as well - our bathroom was quite small but worked all fine. The one thing i would critisize is the breakfast, despite the beautiful views from the 5th floor, there was no butter nor honey (not speaking about ham or cheese), the coffee was far below par and we were not asked for eggs hence there were a few pieces of fruit, yoghurt and some cereal plus bread on e buffet.

Great value place, if you want to treat yourself go to awesome Hotel Rosario next door (double the price but defo worth it).

Very comfy bed and friendly management. Hot water most times- sometimes better than others. Breakfast was plentiful and included eggs of your choice.A great terrace to have a glass of wine, take in the view and write your diary. Very close to where the bus stops from Copacabana- in fact we saw the hotel as we were pulling in so we knew we just had to walk up the road a little and we were there.Perfect!

Arriving in La paz is not very easy. Finding there a good value hotel is quite complicated too. So just go to estrella andina.
The location is great (3min from the witches' market), 15 min from plaza Murillo. The corridors and rooms wall of the hostal are covered with strange and huge paintings and everything is very clean. If you nead heating, they will put one heater in your room. The shower water is warm once you know how it works.
Just ask whatever you need to the staff that is so kind and helpfull. The breakfast is not bad, and from the restaurant you have great views of la paz and the cordillera. The hostal is made of 5 floor, with an elevator, and you have a lot of small terrasses and a big rooftop offering breathraking views.
All day long, you can have free tea and herbal tea. In case you want to leave from la paz for a couple of day, they can store part of your luggages with no additional charge. If you leave early they can fix you with a simple breakfast ...
And The wifi good !
Probably the best value hostel in La Paz.

Room Tip: prefer rooms on higher levels for less street noise

Located on Llamput Street among lots of tourist hotels and hostels. There are also many travel agencies where tours and onward travel can be arranged and the tourist buses pick up from the street.

The hotel is very colourfully decorated with both room doors and entire walls painted with bright murals of country scenes. The rooms are spacious and the beds comfortable. The bathroom had everything you needed and although there were electric showers, there was enough pressure to have a warm shower. The restaurant on the 5th floor serves a good breakfast but finding a waiter to order eggs was quite a challenge.

The reception staff were very helpful and most spoke good English. You can also buy snacks and water in the lobby.

We arrived in La Paz before to go to Uyuni and we rested a day and a night because of the Altitude. The room was perfect size, quiet with free wifi and hot water.
We decided on the way back to La Paz after the 4X4 treck to go back at the same hotel.
The breakfast is included, it is good. They provide you coca leaves to infuse in hot water. Perfect you have the altitude sickness. You can buy water at the register, and they provide a laundry service.
You have a small travel agency, very convenient to book trips in advance.
The location is perfect, next to everything.

Room Tip: Would go back again. Really loved this place.

Good location on Llamput street and near the witches market and the four corners etc...safe to wander around if your worried about that. rooms are a bit tired but comfortable and clean. Good/friendly staff and helpful! Free internet and free tea or coffee all day and great breakfast too. we really like it here and the murals on nearly all the walls are pretty cool (must have taken ages!)
