I've been living in la paz for a year now, and did try many restaurants (quite a lot actually). Swiss Fondue is on the top of my list. The fondue itself is fantastic, jean claude the owner is very friendly and the place feels like home.
It is a great place for a night out with friends.
I highly recommend you to try it !!

We enjoyed the fondue - tasted very authentic (comparable to fondue we had in Annecy, France - just across the border from Geneva). The only problem was that the amount of bread originally served for the pot of fondue was woefully inadequate. Before we had finished the pot, we had to ask for three more servings and each time they came in hand-sized baskets. Why skimp on the bread? I did notice when the bill came that we were not charged extra for the bread, which was nice.

At any rate, we enjoyed our meal and would like to go back.

What a great idea, to have a fondue restaurant at 3800 meters. When we visited it was winter, so it was even more fitting. The place is unassuming and has great little pictures of Switzerland on the wall. The service is a little slow, but the cheese and meat fondue are definitely worth waiting for. Make sure you try one of the digestives as well!

... with a great Bolivian wine!

We came here in a group of 4 expecting a regular fondue. We got extraordinary fondue with sliced bread stick, small potatoes, celery and some other vegetables. Fondue a bit stronger than we usually eat (we make our own at home and it is pretty mild) - it was better than perfect!

Our friend took some gratin dauphinois which was simply delicious! I have tried it and it was melting in my mouth!

Make sure you do not skip this restaurant. And do not worry that is is not Bolivian food - how many saltenias and empanadas can you eat?!

Prices: with wine around 100-120 bolivianos / person
