“Scenic & Romantic”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 17, 2013

I had an opportunity to visit Casapueblo and the first striking thing was that it reminded me of Greece with its white paint and blue roof. The view is fantastic and the place romantic. The museaum interesting, most of all the information how this great man built this house which was a dream of his. We had lunch at the restaurant which was very good. It the kind of place that warrants several visits just to see the different sunrise and sunset. I visit during lunch time and it was still spectacular. I guess if you stay at the hotel, you will have the opportunity to experience it all.

Very nice setting and plenty of artwork to view. Even with tour buses there it did not seem overly crowded

“Stunning Sunset”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 12, 2013

You must go there for the sunset. It´s a very peculiar hotel, incrusted in the rocks. You need to pay a small fee to get in (we paid US$ 15,00 for a couple, but you can use this value in the bar). Next time in Punta, I will consider this hotel for staying.

“Beautiful Views”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 28, 2013

This is a great place to kick back and relax for a couple of days. The views are amazing and tranquil. I'm not into art or just don't "get it" but I spent some time in the museum and watched a video about the artist. Loved it. Was well worth my time! If you get the chance to stay here, do it. Mid week is much quieter than the weekend! ENJOY!

“Excellent but not for the Hotel or Museum / take a swim!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 27, 2013

Paying for the museum at Casapueblo was not worth it (unless you are really into the artist) because you cannot go outside on the ground level to get a good view of the place (reserved for hotel guests). But a ride there is 100% worth it because the views of Punta del Este from Punta Ballena are marvelous.

On the side of the access road to Casapueblo there are some paths along the rocks - go there! You'll get some great pictures of this beautiful hotel and the surrounding landscape.

We were lucky enough to see some local kids swimming and rock jumping into that gorgeous water so we joined in! However, I would not recommend that on your own. It's funny because when walking along the rocks and eventually jumping in the water my wife and I both said it felt like Greece or the Amalfi coast just like several others here on TA! ... A silly but maybe useful point - bring your “water shoes” just in case you take a dip as they would have been very helpful, although not necessary, while navigating the rocks closer to the water.

If you go later in the day, numerous people have suggested getting a drink at the Casapueblo bar (open to public) for the spectacular sunset. I'm sure this is very nice, however you can also just chill on Punta Ballena for the same view without having to go into the hotel.
