My husband and I stayed here and were not extremely pleased. We went during the high Season in December (during the Holidays) and felt that the rooms were extremely tight, small shower (needs updating overall), no views, and just felt outdated. At the time we booked in July all hotels in Punta were already sold out so we stayed at the Camelot. The receptionists were great and helpful, which made our stay a bit better, but would have loved to stay somewhere else.

I discovered Hotel Camelot coming from a hostel when stayed in Punta de Leste.

The hotel is nice. The room is not so big but the staff is very nice. Very good breakfast too. It is well located, close to Punta Shopping.

The only point is that like everything in Punta, the prices goes sky high during the season, specially in Carnaval. If you plan to visit Punta, try to do it in March.

I don't know the rates for this hotel in high season--mid Dec thru Feb--but I was very pleased
with $58 per night thru Expedia. One great plus: included buffet breakfast in the upstairs
dining room. Another plus: the location just north of Ave. Roosevelt on Av Pedragosa Sierra --directly across the street from the pricier AWA Boutique hotel--is in a quieter residential area that is central to the Playas, mansa or brava, the Gorlero street area and it is walking distance to the nice Punta Shopping Mall. As to actual distance to the beach, it's about a half mile. But, shucks, for $58 per night in pricey Punta I was pleasantly surprised. The staff was cordial and helpful and spoke enough English.

Surprised at the other reviews as we had a wonderful experience in Hotel Camalot. The hotel is located in the design district, about 5 blocks from the beach. It is a residentual area and we found Punta del Este quite a difficult place to get around with a pram and without a car. However, the hotel itself was lovely, beautiful and relaxing garden and wonderful staff who could not have been more friendly and helpful. The breakfast buffet also has to be seen to be believed, an amazing variety of everything you could want and all absolutely delicious.
We also found El Palenque restaurante (2 mins walk from hotel) to be one of the best in Punta. I would certainly recommend Camalot to anyone wishing to come to Punta del Este.

We (me and my girlfriend) stayed in Camelot for 4 days. In general it was good. When we started looked for hotel a lot of them were already busy so we didn't have much option left. The room is small, not many options in the fridge (coke and water), no price for the stuff on the fridge (we had to consult the menu later), bathroom could be refurbished (working fine, hot water ok, but not much water). Breakfast good, jacuzzi amazing, pool great (a little dirty, maybe due windy and rainy season). It´s a 15 to 20 minutes walking to Conrad or to the beach (playa brava or mansa). 40 minutes walking to the peninsula. It's really close do Punta Shopping, supermarket and gas station. Cable Tv, internet and air condition added to friendly staff completes the review.
